This motel was a very happy choice. The owners and cleaning staff were very caring that their guests have a good experience, the rooms were clean, had what we needed, and were a good value. Also, the location and view were excellent; sometimes we walked instead of driving to sightseeing and restaurants.
Great place to stay. It's clean, convenient, quiet, and the people who run it and work there are very friendly. We had a nice view, could see part of the bridge and the straits and park across the street. The only downside was the beds were a little hard, but still slept great. We will be back!
Location is great and our room was clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tub were both clean and enjoyable. Parking lot is small and was hard to navigate as a big truck was blocking the path to the exit. Owners were friendly but we felt pressured to leave before check out as staff continuously asked if we were leaving yet.
Nice rooms, very nice owners. Great location. There was one problem, ants got into our food bag the second night we were there. Reported to owners & she said they spray for ants that day. One of the room cleaners started to complain toe about all the hours he had to work there & never getting any time off. I thought that was odd.
Older ma and pa motel with some updates to rooms and direct to outside entrances. Rooms were very clean and housekeeping staff was very friendly and efficient. Ability to open window for fresh air was a plus but a bit scary for us city folk (did it most nights). View of lake and Mackinaw Bridge was somewhat obstructed but pleasant anyway. Parking in their lot was sometimes very tight but available.||One concern was access to the outside while on property. One picture on the website shows 2 chairs and a small table outside each 2nd floor room. They have been removed. This limits the ability to sit outside on the property to 2 tables next to the office, facing the road. This was a negative for us, especially in northern Michigan. This picture needs to be removed as it shows an amenity that is not there.||Overall a nice stay for a week while exploring northern Michigan. Would we stay at this motel again? Based on the limited outside access, probably not.
Location, location, location! This is an older (but VERY well kept up) property literally steps from the lighthouse, Fort Michilimackinac, and the Mackinaw bridge, and a couple of quick blocks from downtown. We were told that it had been remodeled about 18 months ago, and I believe it. The enclosed pool and hot tub were beautiful and a nice bonus as well. Smaller rooms, but would not hesitate to stay here again!
As expected per the reviews, the room was very clean and well kept. In the past we normally stay at the same place but so glad we decided to stay here. The owner informed us we had one of the smallest rooms, which was a surprise because it didn’t feel small! Was a short .4 mile walk to town. We loved the place and are looking forward to returning.
The location is perfect. No road traffic, view was nice (even though trees blocked our full view of bridge). We have no complaints at all. Staff was friendly. Housekeeping is top-notch. We had plenty of towels and bed pillows.

Would definitely recommend. We had a very spacious waterfront room. It was clean, comfortable, and very nice with a private balcony and nice view of the lake and bridge. Front desk staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Our only complaint was they
What a fun little place! It was so weird in the most WONDERFUL way, honestly! The artists make all of the miniatures and everything is so thoughtful and creative! I love the fact that it was only $5 to get in to see everything. They have a nice selec
Gorgeous views of the Mackinaw bridge! I have pictures of my 7yo here when he was a toddler running through the sand. Now my 19mo old gets to enjoy the same park. There's swimming allowed here, but there's also a sign posted to swim at your own risk.
This place is absolutely beautiful and a great place to see the stars. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was cloudy so we were not able to see anything much. The seating area is very nice by the water, they have green space for people who wish to la
The presentation from the different staff members was very informative and engaging. I'm not huge on history but the gentleman that was doing the tour was so passionate and engaging in his presentation it made it interesting and easy to listen to. I
Worth a short drive from I75! Party of two seated quickly. Nice atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. Deep menu with lots of comfort food. In addition to the whitefish, we recommend hot turkey sandwich and pot roast sandwiches.
In August, my husband & I took my 2 youngest grandkids on tour in Michigan. We visited Conking Heritage Park. There was a Fur Traders re-enactment festival the 3rd thru they 8th. It was awesome! Its a beautiful little park
Amazing food for a bar, much exceeded my expectations. Some the best onion rings I have ever eaten. Light crispy not greasy. Italian sub was great with fried ham inside, nice touch. Definitely worth making a trip for.
We came here in September 2023. We were choosing between this and another called the Rusty Spoke or something. Chose this for the Belgian beer. So glad we did.
The beer was good, but the atmosphere and the food were amazing. We went in the evening.
Nice shopping area. The center has a stage area where some bands play with benches around to watch. If you're planning to go to mackinac island, some of the souvenirs here are cheaper than at the island itself. Ive compared and some are exactly the s
This little park, is a true gem (that is free to use)! There is free 3 hour parking too. It has a small playground, a nice beach area on the shore of Lake Huron, great views of the Mackinaw Bridge, & bathrooms. There are also benches & picnic tables
