Not sure where the good reviews came from but here is my experience. First time trying the place so I said let me give it a try. I love trying different restaurants. For starters, my wings still had feathers on them, the mac & cheese & chicken was very salty, the collar greens were sweet and bitter. They actually put tomatoes and raw onions on your greens. Not a fan.

Omg! Best fried chicken I've tasted in a long time. Somebody's momma taught them well. All of my food was hot and ready! Drive thru was less than 5 mins, and Lewis stay on point! Cornbread was tasty, mac-n-cheese cheesy... I just wish the green beans were fresh and not canned.. But I tore those up too! These reviews show that people will just eat anything. The collard greens were EXTREMELY spicy. Did not notify me that baked chicken would be smothered to the point to where I just can't eat it. Baked chicken also had no seasoning. The only thing that's good was the fried chicken but I will not be returning.

We ordered the pork chop plate and Turkey wings plate. Everything was seasoned with perfection.

Yall! Now… I’m a country girl and I know good food! When I tell u Mr. Lewis put his soul in this food!!!! I’m not nearly half way done with my plate but baby!!!! Everything is off the chain! Excellent job sir! He fixed my plate like a grown man!!!!!

This was my first time and I am impressed by the food! There was only one guy running the joint handing out orders (its drive-thru only). Wait was not too long but clearly this isnt fast food, everything is cooked to perfection 👌🏾 I got the Fried Chicken Lewis Special with green beans and mac & cheese, then ordered a veggie plate with cabbage, collards & yams. I only spent $23 and you’ll be charged an additional $2 for using a card. The fried chicken was bomb, I enjoyed some with and without hot sauce. This is real soul food, I believe the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeños are served as a garnish/topping & thats new to me but I did enjoy trying a piece with a few bites. I will definitely be back. Its a small lil joint on the corner and drive thru only! Closes from 3-4 for clean up so plan your drive accordingly. I am excited to try some desserts next time.

They would get 5 stars because the food is pretty tasty, but I've had better. They overdo it with the service. I can't believe... I've said that. But it's almost harassing. And on another occasion, I was undeserved...Little attention. Consistency is the key! I don't know what to expect. I haven't been back.

First time here today and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the smothered Fried Chicken, collard greens and Mac and cheese. All were great and seasoned really well! The best soul food that I’ve had on the south side! I will be back for the Turkey wings and peach cobbler!
