Leucadia Beach Inn - Featured Reviews (232)
Nice clean and cozy. More amenities that most nice hotels. Near the beach. Just be careful leaving out. You have to be aware of people (sidewalk) leaving out and it's hard to see traffic coming from the left. I was forced to commit after humans and cars were coming. This electric vehicle is faster than I thought! Almost smoked the tires. Point is....pull out with extreme caution.
I thought this place was lovely. I had a spacious room. It was very clean and had everything I could hope for in it in terms of the small kitchenette and a comfortable bed. I had a lovely walk around the town as far as the beach and it is surrounded by good restaurants and a fabulous corner store, it was exactly what I needed to explore the area at a great price.
Boutique hotel conveniently located on main drag within walking distance to a small grocery market, various restaurants, coffee shops and a beach nearby. Room was simple, clean, nice and it had a mini-fridge along with a kitchenette area.
I loved staying here. Charming rooms. They look just like the pictures. Easy walkability to many restaurants and bars. Short drive to LA Jolla or Carlsbad. About half an hour to the zoo, safari park, mission beach. It's an adult oriented neighborhood. I didn't see a single child, which is a good thing for here. There is nothing for children to do.
The bad reviews have to be from people with weird expectations. This property was built in 1920. That's part of the charm. It's a small, privately owned hotel, so it won't have all the fancy amenities of a giant chain.
The rooms are charming. Very clean. It's an old building so some small defects (loose tile, small showers) are to be expected. But again, that's part of the charm. The road outside is pretty busy from about 6 am to 6 pm, then quiets down a lot. I slept with my windows open. Some sound from neighboring rooms comes through everyone's open windows, but none through walls. I'm an early bird, but if you're a late riser and light sleeper, you may have to shut the windows after 6 am. Garbage trucks, traffic, the normal stuff. There is also a train that goes by, but I stayed a week and only heard it honk it's horn once.
I hate to even post a review because I don't want everyone knowing about this place. But I couldn't resist.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Great rooms. Great location. Also, they are pet friendly. Highly recommended!
Small, retro hotel with a lovely courtyard.|Bathroom is small and cramped with no vanity, but towels are nice and thick. |It has a kitchenette, and the dishes/glassware were handy.|There is no beach access within a block, despite the website claim.
Called twice to check on the reservation and the request we have when we booked on Expedia. My first call was over three weeks ago.
We are driving to San Diego for the week.
Maybe this place doesn't have any customer service?
Vacation coming up next month still no call back or confirmation about request
