Lemongrass - Vietnamese restaurant in Tallahassee - 2415 N Monroe St, USA

Wanted to check out Lemongrass based on good reviews, but my experience wasn't great. Three employees didn't acknowledge me, and I waited patiently for my order. Another customer waited 15 mins for a waitress in what seemed like a not-so-busy time. Excited about the wings recommended by a classmate from the owners' previous spot near Lincoln High School. Hoping for a better overall experience next time. You can decide for yourself by checking out the wings.

We chose to go to this place based on reviews, as we were interested in finding a new Pho gem! We ordered two apps prior to the meal- chicken spring rolls and crispy calamari. The spring roles were barely warm and almost soggy like they had been sitting out for a bit. The calamari smelled fishy and was chewy and greasy. This would lead me to believe it was not actually calamari. The pho broth was pretty decent, but the beef portion was filled with a lot of fat and gristle. The chicken seemed to be all thin breast meat which was a plus. The meatball texture and flavor was a bit disappointing. Overall the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was quiet. Our server seemed to be having a bad day, but I could hear the interactions of a different server and she seemed delightful. It could just be an off day, but I am not sure we would go back. We were not asked how our food was, nor did we complain or provide feedback to the restaurant. We received our bill, paid in full, tipped 20% and moved on. It was an adventure plain and simple.

I almost didn’t try Lemongrass because of some of the reviews. I’m glad I decided to try you all anyway. My dinner was hot, delicious, and flavorful. I didn’t rate on service and atmosphere because we ordered take out. However, the young man that took our order was pleasant and helpful. We will visit again. In fact, I’ll be in tomorrow for lunch 😊

Delicious food. The service was great but there were only 2 people working so it started out a bit slow, but they were very friendly. So a bit of patience is worth it.

The food was decent, we got fresh summer rolls, pad thai, and drunken noodles. The noodles came out looking like the most bland thing I’ve ever ordered but thankfully I had spice added and it ended up being good. The summer rolls didn’t have much flavor but they were okay.

Found this place by driving around, outstanding food and very affordable prices. The owner/cook came to the door to greet my family, the place is so cozy and colorful has a great vibe! The waiter was so nice and friendly and attentive! The food oh my goodness, delicious. Had sandwich for $7 melted in my mouth but the pho steak was perfection. Perfect place, hard to find

Friday, 26 August 2022 at 7:30 PM Pad King Chicken, ginger, carrots, bell peppers, baby corn, and onions on jasmine white rice. $13.00 Food: 5/5 Excellent. The Pad King was delicious with its ginger flavours. The colors were vibrant, the vegetables were crisp, and the chicken was juicy. Service: 5/5 Excellent. The server was attentive but not suffocatingly hovering. She visited once every 10 minutes. She was polite and professional. Ambiance: 2/5 Fair. We were seated in a booth directly by the kitchen door. Therefore, there was a lot of bustle around our table. Cleanliness: 5/5 Excellent. Tables, seats, and floors appeared freshly cleaned. Server appeared washed and groomed. Value: 3/5 Good. The food and alcohol was a bit pricey for the volume. The Pad King very thinly covered the plate. While I'm not expecting to have leftovers, I want to feel comfortably full after eating my entire dish. Overall: 4/5 Very Good. I would visit again.

Dinner came without rice..waited then wrong rice...then waited some more. By the time it came rest of food wasn't hot. Waiter didnt seem to care. My friends fried rice looked ridiculous. She didn't want peas. It came with just maybe a half of egg and rice, looked like a tiny portion. Tasted bland. Server said peas are mixed with carrots so since she didn't want peas there was nothing else. If she knew she would have ordered the lo mean which had more veggies. She literally took 2 bites but was charged 1/2 price. Our other food that was just ok but cold after waiting forever for rice was discounted 30%. Awful stay away. I have worked in restaurant management, retail, and property . I would have comped the entire meal, apologized and never argue with the guests. Our server had a hickey on his neck too. Very unprofessional.
