Stopped by Leichi since it is close to me now that I've moved. Made a reservation a few hours before. Two of us ordered: -tako wasa $9, pretty good appetizer -sashimi 6 kinds $35.50, decent variety -nankotsu $9, chicken cartilage, really enjoyed it -nasu dengaku $9.50 egg plant, definitely avoid, almost too saucey to eat -tongue grill $15, fun to have a grill come out. Tasted ok. Overall decent meal. Will want to try their treasure box in the future. Parking is easy to find in the plaza.
Great Izakaya spot in Santa Clara! My bf and I came here during lunch time with a reservation on yelp. The spot is hidden in the corner of a plaza near the popular brunch spot Bloom. We ordered the Hotate Uni ( Hokkaido w/ uni) , Harasu (grilled salmon belly), the lunch bento w/ grillwd mackerel and of course the housemade soba noodles. Stands outs were definitely both fish dishes as well as the soba noodles! Both fishes had that crispyness that mark a good izakaya and the soba noodles had a great firm texture and nutty taste. Service was kind and efficient. Note if you are looking for skewers, you may want to save this spot for another day as they focus more on small plates. However if you are looking for great homey spot with izakaya plates, I recommend this spot!
The food quality is excellent, and the Japanese alcohol and food menus have many items to choose from. The parking is easy to find, and the waiter and waitress are busy but friendly. The dining time is restricted for about 1.5 hours for our table.
Pricy Japanese “tapa” style restaurant. The Food was tasty but all dishes came in tiny portion. Everything was good but nothing really jumped out either. Still a good choice if you enjoy Japanese food but expect to order a lot more to get full.
A hidden gem. So impressed by their fresh and delectable dishes. Inexpensive, no frills but very high quality. The sashimi will melt in your mouth. Will absolutely become a regular patron here. We walked in past 8pm and waited for around 5-10mins for our table.
I ordered their assorted sashimi bento. The food is decent but to me the portion was a bit small compared with the price, but it might be because I ordered sashimi. I looked at other bento dishes and the portions looked right. The ingredients are really good though.
This place is overpriced and overrated. I don’t understand the hype around this place. For $50+ per person, you get food that looks and tastes cheap. I don’t think the foods are authentic neither. There’s no atmosphere at all as this place is just so tiny and crowded and you can easily knock off the plates on the table next to you
Soba was really good here! Beef tongue hot stone was very good as well! Would not recommend the fresh sashimi (overpriced not that tasty), or the udon (basically yoshinoya meat) Can be a wait get a reservation.
We LOVE this place, it's our go-to fusion! Don't remember when we didn't like any dish, the appetizers are wonderful (Jalapeno poppers and I forget all the names but you can see in the photos what we've ordered). The rolls are fantastic and they do h
