This park looks like a great picnic place. Lots of shelters and individual tables and grills are tucked under shady trees right by the Potomac. If you follow the Potomac Trail away from the visitor center you'll come to a really nice fishing pier with an unbelievable view of the Potomac River. Tucked beside the pier is a compact sandy beach for catching rays. There's also a history trail through the woods that includes the Freestone Point lookout. A ranger saw me outside the closed visitor center looking kind of confused and he was nice enough to come out and help direct my travels for the day as well as give me great information for what to look for in the area and other state parks. Beautiful place to visit on this gorgeous spring day!
Awesome place to family picnic, Boating, Jet skiing, weekend too busy need to go early in the morning, to get the space otherwise gets will be closed, Nice clean restrooms, plenty of space for BBQ,
I love visiting this park and glad I have it close to home.
Nice, pretty, and quiet park. The biggest downside was the nature center, visitor center, and store were all closed. We were there around 10 am on a Saturday and there were no signs indicating why they were closed, and the park attendant at the pay station did not say anything when we came in and mentioned that's where we were headed first.
Nice sandy manmade beach with shallow swim area. Great late summer alternative to the Chesapeake once the sea nettles have moved in. No sea nettles but there are some biting flies. Bring bug spray.
My return to Leesylvania State Park was on a 65 degree Spring day in April. How great was the hiking and the fantastic views.
We went early and it was quiet. Very peaceful day and looked beautiful

Loads of good restaurants and plenty of shopping (most is high-end). Parking is easy. Nice broad sidewalks to stroll down with your friends and family. Around the holidays, they even had an ice rink!
First visit in about five years and it definitely won't be another five years between visits! Wonderful staff/owners, wonderful pizza, love the newer color scheme. Some day we swear we're gonna try the gyros and cheese steaks, but we shall see!

I always go here to meet with my mom and have a personal pizza! She put me on to this spot and i feel like im always here lol. The owner is soooo nice and at times we wait in the car and ahe'll bring the pizza to you! Love it. Going over and beyond.
