Chef changed post covid. Ordered the banana leaf wrapped steamed sea bass with coconut sauce and glass noodles. Highly recommended! Service was excellent. Not busy if you go early. Good place to eat alone when traveling. Floors need updating.
It had been so long since my last visit, maybe 20 years ago. I forgot that the restaurant is still here and how fantastic it is ! Highly recommend! There was a table behind us speaking French - that is an endorsement right ! Highly recommend: vietnamese crepe, crab imperial roll. Shaken beef, pork skewer , clay pot salmon, sea bass in banana leaves !
The space was intimate, warm, and exceptionally decorated. The server gave great recommendations. I enjoyed the passion fruit cocktails with the earthy cilantro and spicy tone-based tequila. The crispy vegetarian spring rolls were delicious, and the Beef stir-fried Criphy Pho was flavorful!! The Angus Beef dishes were super tender and easy to devour with the side accompaniment of the sauce. I chose the rambutan as a dessert which was fresh and chill. Would recommend it to friends and come back again.
Super impressive ‘high end’ Vietnamese cuisine. Great service, fun menu with all the classics, even the cocktails were done right. Highly recommend you give it a try.
I have never felt the need to write a negative review of a restaurant but the bad treatment we experienced several days ago caused me to write this. I reserved a table for 3 about a month ago. When we arrived, right on time, we were told the ONLY table available was this tiny table, suitable only for cocktails for 2, and NOT for 3 people to enjoy dinner. It was stuck in a front corner of the restaurant as well. We asked why we couldn't be seated at one of the larger tables behind the receptionist. He rudely said that those tables were reserved. We repeated that we also had a reservation, which he acknowledged. But he wouldn't budge on seating us at any one of those tables, insisting that we'd have to sit at this tiny table. I mean this was surely a joke or mistake. This man could not care less. His attitude was so bad. We left and will never return again. I'd strongly advise anyone else to avoid this place. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants where you are greeted cordially and treated well.
We were a party of 12. No food was left behind! :D I’m a huge fan of Le Colonial in Chicago. We decided to try the one in San Francisco. We’re so glad we did! Everything we ordered was delicious. A couple of times we doubled up on certain dishes because they were just that good! It was a fairly busy holiday evening; but, we were fortunate to be seated in a more private space with plenty of distance from other diners. The restaurant staff and our main server were working hard to take care of us and all the other guests there. We were grateful for their hospitality.
I had such a fantastic time here , From the drinks to the food everything was so good, it’s such a lovely colonial style restaurant. I ordered a Mai tai and my husband ordered tamarind margarita. Both were great, I loved the decor , there’s outdoor patio seating and indoor seating. Clean tables ,plates and linens . I was just bit irked when I found a huge housefly on my glass , but the server changed my glass immediately. We went for the restaurant week menu and we also ordered 2 extra appetizers from the menu . We were so amazed with the quality and quantity of the dishes . They ran out orange cranberry panacotta so we were offered to choose any dessert from the menu so we took the Duran cheesecake . They have parking lot and they do validate parking 😄
Le Colonial is an absolute throwback to eras of subtle elegance and charm. The interior is a Casa Blanca esque feel, with rattan, beautiful tile, and tropical plants. The service was impeccable, and every suggestion was on point. Our waiter was friendly and really made our experience effortless and enjoyable. My guests were going to the Masonic for a show after dinner, and they made sure to course everything in an efficient manner so we didn't have to worry about any time crunch. The food itself was a treasure. I was amazed by the subtle and rich flavors of the food, and everything was executed beautifully. Honorable mentions include the Chilean bass, which was prepared in banana leaves and finished in a coconut milk sauce with glass noodles, the roasted Portabello Spring Rolls, Braised Pork Shoulder and Mustard Greens, and the tropical tequila and passion fruit drink. All in all, a phenomenal experience. My guests and I will be back.
Wonderful take out restaurant with a tiny space that has a few high chairs to eat on the premises. Two basic foods done extremely well; ban mi and salad bowls!! We had a 5 spiced chicken salad bowl and the spicy pork ban mi and both were exceptional
Been looking for a new pho post since turtle tower closes their Larkin st location⦠and this spot hit the nail on the head. Everything is perfect here with the exception of it being cash only. Value, flavor, service and authenticity are all off the
Phonomenal pho. Unlike my puns, Golden Lotus is actually good. Large portions for cheap prices, cordial owners and the meatiest pho in Little Vietnam. And they accept credit card. Large pho came out to be $10.20 with tax. edit. Came back after years
Came here for a nice quiet lunch despite the loudness of the farmers market outside. Street parking around this time is always difficult. We had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was strong. Lemongrass pork chop was moist and also had good char. Speci

Very friendly staff. They were initially unsure about my wifeâs guide dog, but once they understood her role and the importance of her service, they were very accommodating. It was the first time they experienced having a guide dog in the restaur

HIT is not really my thing, nor is working out just for the sake of working out, but this team is rocking it. They've gotten me to come back more times than I thought I would and that's a credit to their energy and encouragement â¤ï¸ The team has c
