Lawrence Nature Park has some pretty awesome trails. Going down the first trailhead from the parking lot will lead you to several different paths you can take.
The ground is uneven! Easier for walking, but not so much running. Multiple areas where you will be going up and down hills covered in rock. There are multiple benches along the trails.
This nature park is usable year round. However, parts of it can get very wet, and muddy! The ice can be rather treacherous in the winter, and the summer has a massive amount of mosquitoes. The change in seasons is beautiful to see though.
There is some pretty fantastic fungus and moss to see from the downed limbs and trees. Way back on the longest trail there are the ruins of an old building that is neat to see as well.
The parking lot is quite small and can be very full at times. Lots of folks walk their dogs here.
Nice little area. I’m a local photographer and Lawrence Nature Park is a perfect spot for photo shoots. Not usually very busy which is nice!!
Nice easy trails. Has options of smaller loops and is mostly easy to walk. Different junctions are all clearly marked with signs of the map. Is harder to walk right after or on a rainy day though, as the trails will be muddy. The tranquility and quiet/peace is nice here. Once saw a deer run by in here. Truly full of nature. There are many spider webs on the trail though, so beware! Use a stick to clear the path!
As soon as you enter and go in about 20 feet you get a feel of the seclusion. It's like you stepped into another world. All I heard were birds chirping away and trees creaking in the wind. Though some of the paths were quite muddy it was still a blast to hike through. If I lived nearby I would definitely make this a routine hike. Very easy for young hikers too.
One of my favorite places to go with my dog! Beware of ticks though!
Good signs at important intersections so you know where you are. Round-trip from parking lot to farthest point is a little over a mile.
Great trail for taking a hike. But it needs maintenance.
The traffic noise really takes you out of the nature you’re supposed to be enjoying
Wonderful off leash park!
Even when the parking lot is full, you are never overwhelmed by other dogs or people. You can choose to go to the fenced-in park, the off leash play area where most dogs hang out, or you can go walk the trails and more likel
Just checked it out this evening but we will be back when we have time to hike the trail by the pond. This is a hidden gem where you can just sit and enjoy nature at it's best.
