Fun pool with lots of things to do for every age group. High dive, high slide, long water slide, a small kid area, lap swimming area to just name a few. It is conveniently located in the center of the town and relatively easy to get to from anywhere.
My kid loves the slides and diving boards. He can't get enough of this place.
Expensive don't you think? -Month Swim Pass Youth/Senior $15, Adult $30 (valid at all city of Las Vegas pools) 3-Month Swim Pass Youth/Senior $35, Adult $70 (valid at all city of Las Vegas pools) That's Vegas prices and they are cheaper?
As a certified WSI and licensed MSRN, for safety reasons, I can not recommend this pool. I was at the pool on a day when lifeguards were being tested on rescue using backboards. Not one of them could get their pretend patient strapped on the board without guidance. They all seemed confused by the straps. Application of neck blocks didn't go any better. As the day progressed, I observed lifeguards talking to other lifeguards and friends from their stands. When you are looking down at someone talking, where are your eyes focused? Exactly, not on the pool. I noticed very young children who could barely swim using high/low diving boards. Two small children were jumped over by teens diving off the boards. Since the children couldn't swim well they had not reached the wall or stairs before the big kids jumped. The lifeguards didn't seem to notice or care. I knew Lawrence was having problems finding lifeguards and certified WSI's however, I did not believe a group of immature teens would be hired for the most important job at the pool. To be fair there were a couple of female lifeguards who, you could tell, took their job seriously. Now for the smell. Around and under the yellow slide and diving boards the smell of stale urine was pungent. The restrooms are dirty and barely functional. I've seen cleaner restrooms in some gas stations. On this same visit, a group of teenagers were shooting little balls at each other. They were shooting each other at close range to inflict pain. When they tired of that, they all sat down and started vaping. This was not going on in some hidden corner. They were at a table under the portico. When informed, staff confiscated the guns and vapes but the rowdy group of teens remained. I wonder if they were the ones who stole some of our things. Apparently, frequent stealing is a known problem. Trash is everywhere at this pool. It's in the water and blowing everywhere. It is so crowded with children I guess staff can't keep up with the trash. Below is a picture of some, not all, trash we found in the pool water. So disappointed in Lawrence Parks & Recreation. I don't mind paying whatever the price is but, for that admission fee, I expect at least well trained lifeguards who take their job seriously and recognize the importance of their job plus, a base level of cleanliness.
Excellent facility! Lifeguards are plentiful with 20 as the pool opened to all swimmers. I was impressed with 2 lifeguards in the water besides being on the lifeguard stands.
My kids and I had a good time here. It wasn't too crowded when we went and all the kids were courteous and well behaved. Didn't have any issues at all. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful, Clean and we'll laid out
Lots of affordable family fun! Slides, high dive, wade-in toddler pool, shaded tables, concession stand, party room and accessible changing rooms.
