La'Wan's - American restaurant in Charlotte - 7520 S Tryon St #19, USA

I’ve had a coworker telling me to try this place out for a minute. I was working in the area so I finally decided to Uber eats a platter. It was a 2 piece dark meet special. This is what my chicken looked like. I had a drum & a breast, my drum was a little red but I ate around it because I didn’t think it was too bad. Something told me to open this one up, when I did this is what I saw. I was very disappointed. My stomach instantly turned when I seen it. Honestly wouldn’t try again, my coworker ordered a fish platter and it was good. However as a soul food restaurant, your fried chicken should never ever look like this.

Everything was great ,the flounder fish and whiting were great 👍 and the cakes 🎂 mhummm!!!!! Delicious .double chocolate and pound cake. The staff were very nice and very friendly 😀 loved the place. Down to earth, real people.

The food was good and $17.00 isn't a really bad price for each dinner. However, it should at least be a meal. One small piece of fish isn't enough food for a grown adult. That size dinner shouldn't be priced more than $10.00. Needless to say, we won't be ordering again. I'm not dropping $50 for two people on dinner and still being hungry.

just recently ordered takeout from La’Wan’s and I will say I wasn’t a fan of the rice but I’ll blame it on the fact that I ordered close to closing time. Chicken was nice and tender , loved that it came with stuffing and gravy. The yams were amazing and the cornbread was sweet. It was cheaper than Soul Central!

Excellent as always! We try to stop by whenever in town. No dining in, but can take out. Call in your order because they are busy, especially on Saturday. If you don't, you may have to wait a while.

When I tell you I have 0 complaints, I mean 0! Everything was delicious! I will definitely be going back. I couldn’t decide on which dessert, so I bought 3; the banana pudding, carrot cake and lemon cake 😋

We drove 30 mins to get food placed online order for 54$ that stated 30-35 mins. Order was to be ready at 3:28p. My husband went in to get food at 3:24 & was told give them 15-20 more mins. Went in 15-20 mins later then told wait another 20 mins. After 20 mins went in food not even piping hot and thrown in bag Mac & cheese wet and runny I don’t even think it was done. Pepper over load!!! All the meat chicken wingettes, baked chicken & porkchops pink inside! Greens & yams ok. Had to try and put everything back in oven just ridiculous..Definitely NOT the best soul food in the city…& maybe hiring workers that actually want to work instead of having conversations in front of customers stating she could’ve stayed in bed ..well she definitely should’ve serving what was served today..I don’t care what day it is if I pay for food I want great service & food provided mon-sun ! highly upset & will never return. I genuinely enjoy Lawans. The food portions are filling for me, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. I usually add sides to create a full meal and it’s always good. I typically order delivery and my order is hardly ever incorrect. They also have a all you can eat buffet option in the restaurant. I have only been once a few years ago but I remember the price being reasonable and I enjoyed the available options provided on the buffet table. I don’t have any complains, good soul food if your ever looking for something in that area.
