Very friendly staff! Attend the activities meeting so you know what there is to see and do. Bonus the activities director will help set them up and help keep your cost low. She is super sweet. Activities are scheduled on- site to do but mini- golf and activity center are very accessible. Need to rent a car to access the other excursions on the island.
Great place to stay. The room near the public parking can be noisy at times. No AC. Need to have the windows/doors/vents open to get a breeze through the room to be comfortable. Roosters noisy in the morning. Most the staff was kind and supportive except for one woman at the front desk. Kind of grumpy. The Resort is at a great place right at Lawai Beach with good snorkeling. Room was clean and roomy.
A good size unit for my family of 4. I booked 2 Bedrooms unit. The location is nice and close to Poipu Beach. I loved the morning walk and enjoyed watching sunrise & sunset daily from my unit's patio. I also love waking up to the sound of the roosters every morning. Only one thing I wish the management can change is to give each unit daily supply of coffee. We were given 1 packet of coffee for the coffee machine on arrival and when I asked for more the next day, I was told it will be an additional cost.
The resort is very nice. Every unit has an ocean view. Avoid the bottom floor in the coral building . No view in many of the units. Also the Coral building is directly across the street from the Beach House Restaurant. The common comings and goings of vendors in the morning. Garbage collection, bottle dumping, deliveries and the drone of diesel engines with refrigerated motors and backup beeping can be quite invasive. This is the only building where the ocean views are obstructed by power lines. This isn’t horrible, but it’s not great either. I still love the property and would stay there again though I would think twice about confirming the Coral building. I would always be sure I wasn’t on the ground floor. The banyan and Alii Buildings have better unobstructed views overall. Still this is a Shell resort which is one of the best. The snorkeling beach in front is outstanding.
We are in the Coral building. It doesn't appear any of the floors were cleaned. Popcorn on the floor in bedroom and dirt, hair and stickiness on floors throughout. We were told there was a washer and dryer in the room when we booked. There is not. The shower tub does not drain. Wouldn't stay here again as it is pretty dirty. The carpet is very gross and dirty.
We're a retired 50th wedding anniversary couple from Ohio and purchased a Getaway week through Interval International. We were very pleased with our week on the south shore at Lawai Beach Resort, Koloa. If we return to Kauai, we would stay here again. Their occupancy taxes/fees were minimal compared to where we stayed on the north shore the week prior.
I’ve been vacationing here for over 35 years. The property is very well maintained and completely updated periodically.|When I visit Hawaii I want ocean front not garden view or Mountain View’s. This property is probably the only property in Kauai where everything is ocean front!|This Poipu area is my favorite because of excellent weather and great dining options.|There’s three buildings. If you have a choice…I recommend Alii because in the two bedroom… the master is on the ocean.|I’ve reviewed most of the properties on Kauai and all things considered. this is top choice!
Excellent location, snorkeling across the street and surfing right here. Not a lot of beach here but close to others. Sitting on the lanai and watching the sun rise and set. The rooms are well equipped and plenty of grills on site.
My husband and I had a beautiful stay at the Whalers Cove Resort. We stayed in the Alii Penthouse and nothing can beat the views. Please just be prepared to go without AC for many this will not be an issue. For my husband and I we are used to the com
Extremely nice hotel. Everything was clean, staff was friendly, and location was superb. Youâre a stones throw away from two of the nicest beaches on the south shore of Kauai! Very nice and clean pool and hot tub. Housekeeping was impeccable. My on
First time Scuba diving. Only snorkeled twice so no experience diving. The instructor made me feel so comfortable and safe and calm under the water all the way thru the dive. Saw some beautiful marine life. Even a few curious ones. Absolutely amazing
This trail was fun and relatively easy to do. The cave was easy to get through. You do have to crawl through a little hole to enter the cave. It also leads to the beach. Saw people riding horses and we also took a dip in the ocean. Didnât get to se
Walked the entire trail barefoot which was fun. Took the jeep 4x4 to park as close as possible (right above the last parking area over the cliff). Cave trail path was conveniently marked with signs with info. Then ducked into the cave entrance to exp
I spent all my vacation money here⦠so good and bad! I loved all of the local shops as well as the blend of mall stores. They all had beautiful merchandise and it was so easy to get to every store with the layout. It was a short walk from our Airbn
If you haven't seen a spouting blowhole, I think it's worth the stop. I went in December and there was minimal traffic/tourist. Only takes from a few minutes to a half hour to see this site. Blowhole has an intriguing whoosh like sound and can blow a
Visited here twice during our stay at Grand Hyatt, even though the price is more on the expensive side, the food is absolutely delicious 𤤠If you get here early, youâll probably be lucky to get a seat with a lake view too. So many cute birds and
Climb the stairs to a new height of cuisine, service and atmosphere! This is certainly the place that is tough to match. In the home stretch of this yearâs visit to Kauai, this was a real treat to the taste buds and giving myself a special night ou
Arguably the best happy hour prices Iâve ever seen. Came here for the phenomenal happy hour promotion (3:00 pm- 6:00 pm) around 4:30 pm and was seated right away. We started with the $6 select cocktail special (Long Island Ice Tea & Mai Tai) before
