Very VERY nice low key spot to get your Mexican fix. I was surprised at some of the reviews that I read about the food not having any flavor (which is VERY confusing because if anything it would be OVER seasoned) but I was more than pleased with meal. I had the ceviche to start and it was GREAT! The zestiness of it and the acidity in it was delicious. Then I had the stuffed peppers with beans and rice *pic below* Really delicious... Although I will say the beans were pureed which visually threw me off but the flavors were there. I will definitely be back and looking forward to trying something different next time.
The chicken chimichanga and tacos were delicious; however, the bean & cheese pupusa wasn’t that great. It could be because it wasn’t as hot as I like mine, right off the grill & with marinated cabbage.
I prefer to dine in & will probably do that next time.
The Good:
Upon entering, I noticed the establishment was spotless and the atmosphere was nice. I was greeted and seated quickly and waited on by a pleasant staff. I was given chips and salsa, and I ordered the beans nacho as an appetizer and then the veggie enchiladas that came with a side of rice and beans as a meal. They both were out in light ten or fifteen minutes, and both meals were delicious. The waitress was attentive, coming to my table multiple times to ask if everything was ok.
The Bad:
Though the I thought the enchiladas, rice, and beans were delicious, I there were a couple of hard, uncooked rice that kind of took away from the enjoyment of the meal.
Judgment:
Overall it was a great experience.
(I do recommend this place.)
It was our 1st time visiting this establishment and when we walked in, we were greeted and told we could sit anywhere. The waitress approached with the menu, chips and salsa and said she'll be back. Her energy read like she didn't want to be there. My ggf said, give her a chance. (I'm BIG on customer service)
The chips were stale. I ordered the shrimp tacos which were tasty. The refried beans and rice were delicious. The drinks 🍸 ... the drinks stole the show. We had a house margarita and that drink is NOT to be slept on. I still didn't like the customer service and if I go back at all, it'll probably be for drinks only.
From the name, I would never have guessed it was a Mexican restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good, and the food was delicious. I got the mixed fajita, and the meats were cooked beautifully. I loved how it stayed hot on the hot plate for long enough time for me to finish it. The tortilla chips and salsa were great too. This is a great place for a casual lunch or dinner.
A wonderful place for lunch.
The Ranchero special is mouthwatering.
Tender chicken, beautiful sautéed shrimp and fall apart steak. The onions and peppers were cooked perfectly.
Free parking in front of the restaurant.
Will be revisiting when in the area.
We came for lunch, and tried Birria tacos which were kinda ok, too much fat tho. And the tacos al pastor...the meat was too chewy, not really good taste, they doesn't taste like pastor tacos. We didn't like them.
Side comment. Tacos al pastor shouldn't include Radish, that's super weird.
We also ask for Tamarindo water, this was far too sweet, it taste more like sugar than tamarind. :(
First Off, Restaurant is not a Mexican restaurant . More so Central American . The decor you can say is “Mexican” but no mexican type restaurant feeling too it . Stepping in Place seems pretty clean . Menu has general typical latin dishes. I ordered the “ Costilla Asada” Dish which was the beef riblets. Food i can say was tasty, freshly cooked . Riblets were soft, savory and great tasting. Grilled just right . Along with fresh home-made tortillas and side of beans and salad. Based on the good food i would consider eating again. Wouldn’t be my to-go dine in because of the atmosphere. Personally i prefer the feeling of traditional Mexican restaurants
