Cool site. There is a tiny little visitor center with a tiny amount of information. The little guide map has some more info and the walk was educational. There is a single point of entry to go snorkeling. No bathroom, just a portapotty. Closes at 4pm!?! We liked it, but don't expect much, it isn't restored. Just one upper part of the buildings has been rebuilt. The rest are all ruins. Great to show the kids how the village was laid out though.
This is a super interesting place to see if you are interested in learning about Hawaiian history. There are a lot of ruins here. I wish there was a bit more information available. The area is very open and you are free to explore the paths, I don’t believe there is a visitors center or anything. It was super cool and also makes for sick photos.
Loved the trail. Suggest getting the map if available for the # points of interest.
Really interesting trail around a 600 year old fishing village. Took us around 45 minutes, quite challenging and rocky in places. Worth a stop if you're exploring the North part of the island.
A beautiful park by the sea where you can explore the ruins with an interpretative trail. Pick up a guide at the trailhead and follow each number that corresponds with a description as you complete the trail. There is a visitor center near the trail head where the staff is knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. There is a chart with all the types of birds you may encounter so you may want to bring your binoculars.
Great little hike in the desert. But don't go in flip-flops. Not a long stop but worth the visit.
Beautiful spot on the way to Hawi to learn more about some original Hawaiian culture. Make sure to bring your hiking/tennis shoes as the trail is pretty rocky, but it’s an easy, short trail to see the whole thing. We did it in our Tevas but would have definitely preferred sturdier shoes. Super glad we stopped here to see some unexpected, beautiful views! FYI the park does close at 4 PM, so a morning stop would be perfect!
Interesting walk that shows dwellings of ancient Hawaiians and leads to dramatic ocean scenes.

Beautiful canyon. We could not view certain parts due to fog. The waimea lookout was completely not visible the day we were out there but I hear itâs beautiful on a clear day. We were still happy with the parts we saw. A beautiful scenery and drive
Bobby's beginner yoga flow class was outstanding! There were so many different types of people in class. Over 5 teenagers that I think were from a swim team, moms, dads, young, mature, seniors....Bobby caters to just about everyone who wants to have
I visited this most amazing GJâs Huli Chicken by pure chance and let me tell you- THE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HADâ-HANDS DOWN. Initially- from the roadside, we saw the rolling smoke as the chickens were being cooked, then decided to stop and see

I did a morning 2 tank charter with the Blue Wilderness crew and it was awesome! The team and captain were super personable and upbeat throughout the morning, gave thorough dive briefings and split the divers into two groups (beginner and advanced) w
Awesome customer service the food is delicious and vegetarian friendly. The spicy veggie ramen was 10/10 and the toasty onigiri was the perfect texture! We will definitely be back.
Excellent park with picnic tables and a stream! Kiddo loves chasing the chickens and there is a short trail (about 1 mile long) to walk. Trail pretty well maintained and no big hills.
We had such a great time here for dinner! The vibe was on point and service was friendly and quick. We got a flight sampler and some food. Food tasted great and priced reasonably especially compared to a lot of places on the Big Island. Parking was l
This place was truly so beautiful. We were at the Mauna Lani Resort for a week and we only made it to breakfast in person once but Iâm so glad we went. I got the French toast and my wife got waffles and oh my goodness they were so amazing, I ended
Don De Luca's is hands down the best Italian restaurant on the Big Island. The service is wonderful, the food is tasty and comes to two portion sizes (half and full), and they, of course, have a bar service. The Chicken Marsala was amazingâthe chic
