Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge - Lodge in Buford - 7000 Lanier Islands Pkwy, USA

My wife and I stayed September 1st to get away from the every day city grind. The Lodge is a beautiful building. The staff was very friendly. The food “breakfast “ at Sidney’s was wonderful. We went to the other restaurant on the property and my wife had a slimy salad, and burnt hush puppies. Definitely no what you would expect from a 5 star resort. We stayed in room #350. The view was wonderful, however, there was a horrible sewer smell coming from the shower drain and sewer flys came out of the drain. We didn’t stay in the room except to sleep. We were tired and didn’t want to move our stuff to another room. We notified the front desk when we checked out. They were friendly, but we expected more from them since they are listed as a 5 star resort. That was our second time this year staying there. In a nutshell, we work hard for our money and expected more.

It was a fantastic weekend, we enjoyed our time, if you're looking for a quick getaway this is a nice peaceful place. It's only an hour from Atlanta and I'm glad we got a chance to relax, the food, the staff we can't say enough, I have nothing to complain about, from check in to check out, everything was excellent. Scarlett at gamechanger restaurant was fantastic for her service.

I recently stayed for a few days. It wasn’t enough time!. After you stay here you’ll see what I mean. It was quiet, peaceful and much needed r and r. I highly recommend you get the golf cart most everything is accessible.one thing that i didn’t care for is that it is open to the general public and some of the folks not staying there are rude and disrespectful to the golf carts. Nearly got run over a few times but it was Friday and Saturday nights and I presume those are locals that were in a rush to get that first drink in. The game changer put Dave and busters to shame. The food at all restaurants was absolutely fantastic. The main chief at the game changer honestly needs a raise. The only thing I didn’t care for is that not everything on the island is for the guest and may require additional charges even if you get the package deal the water park and golf club is not included nor are there any discounts that I could find. Having said that prices were fair across the board as far as food goes. I recommend bringing your own drinks to keep in the room 4 dollars and up at the pantry is a little steep. It’s only 6 miles from any kind of shopping you might enjoy. The nature, the lake, the pure tranquility of legacy lodge is the real deal. Breakfast at Sidney’s every morning was the best your waited upon the food dwarfs that of any hotel breakfast I’ve had in my life. I recommend you get that included the up charge is well worth it and it’s all you can eat. Finally and closing we ate every night pretty much at bull frogs and it was really good. The staff make it very worth while. My servers and bar tenders at bull frogs had me absolutely sold on eating there. Attentive, caring and all around great service. Thank you to all who made this happen at the legacy lodge and to all the great staff at the island!

My family and guests booked here because my now wife decided this was our best choice for our wedding. We were not disappointed at all. Once Cathy became our wedding coordinator my wife’s stress level decreased drastically. Any questions we had or issues we ran into Cathy resolved everything immediately. She was always available when we needed her and she always provided professional attention to detail with a smile on her face. She is a true gem to Legacy Lodge and I have and will continue to recommend this place for anyone looking for a paradise to have a wedding. The fire pits and pool were relaxing, food was amazing, guest courtesy well above par, and the facility was absolutely gorgeous. The only thing I can see that needs improvement would be the beds. As I understand everyone prefers different styles of beds my guests and I all agreed the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. With that being said though it will not deter me from visiting again.

Grounds were beautiful. Conference food was delicious. Place was clean. Staff were friendly. Conference rooms were great for the space needed. Had 2 restaurants on site. Pool was very spacious but watch for spiders in the towels which are kept outdoors.

Rooms were clean and the pool area was nice. Meeting areas are the typical drab, windowless, boxes for work trips/retreats . I found it most strange that you cannot see the lake from the rooms or the pool. The food at the hotel and at the other restaurants is definitely just average. At other lakes the view from a restaurant may be a gorgeous part of the lake, here you will be staring at boat slips in marinas.

This hotel needs to stop advertising that they give free access to landshark landing . The photo on the website is deceiving. There is no lake beach. They have blocked the access to swimming on the lake with a floating barrier. All you have is a puddle of water, sand and a restaurant. This place used to be a cool beach.

Avoid! Use AirBnB on this one if you need a Lanier stay. Atrocious service, busted up badly flipped restoration on lake houses from the 70s. List dump of grievances: 1. hour delay on check-in and no word of apology due to their tardiness on getting a room clean. I get it happens but the communication was atrocious. 2. Had logging service occurring at the lakehouse we overpaid for during our visit with no warning whatsoever - chainsaws running for DAYS with literally NO warning and not even an apology. We had to personally request a move! This should be a full refund offense at the minimum. The staff is disenchanted and generally angry, we got looks as if we were some Karens when we didn't even complain about all of this treatment. About what I expect from an org owned by the Kochs, but not one owned by the Buffets. Massive bummer.
