This was such a great hike! This was our second time to do this as the first time we didn’t make it all the way, due to me worrying about hiking back in the dark. 😳 We did this with our almost 4 and almost 6 year old. Mind you they have been hiking with us for about a year now. The first time we did the river trail, that would be the easier trail for sure. The second time we did the mountain trail and the kiddos did need more breaks then normal. It was pretty intense. The Lanier falls isn’t like a big waterfall but it’s beautiful and peaceful. It took us longer to get to the falls because of the mountain trail but coming back we went along the creek (small river) and it didn’t take as long. So beautiful. Definitely felt like it got us prep for the mountains to do some hikes up there!
Beautiful hike, considered a moderate trail, loose rock, tree roots, broken paths on trail. Lanier falls trail length 4.5 miles suggested to take 4-5 hrs to walk. I walked in 2.5 hours. Son and daughter had fun
Great hiking trail and awesome views
One of the best water falls which is part of Raven rock state park. Trail leading to falls is good but an off trail walk closer to river makes go pass some of beautiful view. water activities like kayaking and river rafting down stream are available making it one of the best place within an hour of driving from rtp.
Long hike, but if you take the trail to the right, you go down the creek. Good things come to those who wait. It's true! Amazing at the end!!
This is not a fall. It is a water rapid and you can barely see it from the trail.
Had a wonderful time and a great hike, rain couldn't stop us! Beautiful trails and super well maintained, thanks everyone!
Oh what an amazing hike it was! Fresh air and great scenery!
