Lanea - Cocktail bar in Santa Monica - 217 Broadway, USA

Little gem in the heart of Santa Monica with very affordable food and happy hour specials. I didn’t try any of the cocktails regrettably but it looks like an amazing selection. The service was super fast (on a slow overcast Sunday) and friendly. The shrimp quesadilla was fresh, four stars because it was a bit bland with only shrimp and cheese inside. All tacos and quesadillas are automatically served on gluten free corn tortillas but you can request a flour tortilla.

My daughter and I stopped by this place while we were killing time before the Barbie movie began, so we decided this was the spot to sit down and eat dinner. Good decision as the quesadilla and the tacos were really good. I ordered the gluten-free quesadilla and I wish I could have brought the tortilla shell that he used home because that was the best taco shell ever. And I mean ever. Better than gluten, even! The customer service was great, and I don't even know how he did it by himself with all those people in there, but he somehow remained attentive to our table as well. My only complaint is that I wish they weren't so shy with the seasonings, but at least we had the two choices of sauces to fill in the gaps.

My experience here was pretty bad. This was my first time going here and it will be the last time. For starters, for it being a cocktail bar with an emphasis on agave spirits.. you'd think they'd be a bit more educated on that. Yet, the staff knows nothing about agave spirits, and more specifically Peter - who was very rude and not knowledgable about agave spirits. I wouldn't go back.

This place is trying to break out. Their draft cocktails have flair, but are probably worth closer to the half off happy hour price. The tacos our great, but small. The chips probably come from a bag... Strong pass.

Alie and Lanea was probably the best part of our trip to Santa Monica. My fiancee and I just wanted tacos late at night and we found this little gem that has a couple hundred tequilas. We asked Alie to take us on a tequila/mezcal journey. It was perfect. We loved some, hated others but the journey was amazing. Highly recommend the asada tacos and the premium tequila flight (most aged). For a couple hundred dollars we had a tequila omakase that we will never forget. Just go and trust that Alie will make sure to find the right tequila for you.

It’s not because I don’t like tacos 🌮. Actually I’m just bad at taking photos of tacos 🌮. We recently had tacos in Santa Monica at Lanea. This is located near Third Street Promenade. The vibe is super chill and the food, well, you can judge it for yourself after watching our video. Or you can verify it by giving them a visit today. After watching the sunset from Venice beach, my friends and I were looking for a place that was open late for dinner. We randomly stumbled upon Lanea on our way to the third street promenade. Not only were the food and drinks delicious (I recommend the picante coast highway margarita and the WATERMELON. SUGAR. HIGH. for drinks--the margarita flight was also very fun--and quesadilla for food), the bartenders were some of the nicest people I've met. The bar was packed and only two bartenders were there to take orders and make drinks. Both Alie and Chad were amazing. They took my order and quickly made the drinks (which were delicious) and then brought our food to a table outside, even though the bar area was packed. They were quick to take our order, quick to serve us, and quick to smile during the whole process. The two handled the stress phenomenally, and I could go on for pages about how great they are. As I said, Alie and Chad are the best bartenders I've ever met; they're great at making drinks and even greater at making me want to come back. The flight of margaritas made it a fun night, but the bartenders made it amazing!

This place should be named a Tequila y Mezcal cocktail bar because their selection of both is impeccable. Fresh from Mexico I was looking for a place with similar vibes and this place definitely hit the spot. Make sure you turn in to give this joint a try. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.
