This is the type of place that you can probably rent by the hour. I drove friends down to Tampa the other night because he was supposed to have been offered a job down there, amd this was the only place that had a room and that didn't demand both of their ID's. As for the Lamplighther... Well I'm all for the comeback of small l, mom and pop motels. Especially because where I live, our only choices are high priced, corporate hotels, or cheap, run down dumps with nothing to offer... And they're cheaper than the Lamplighther was and still have a pool at the least, to offer. That said, this 'mom and pop' hotel of horrors,' looks like it can be (maybe even should be) rented by the hour. And being in "Da Hood' it possible thay it is. I told my friend to leave him there to work and come home with me and she could see him on the weekends. But, she stayed. And I haven't heard one word from her since I left.
Absolutely disgusting homeless shelter. You're better off sleeping in a cramped car with 3 families over risking your life staying here.
The place was very nice and very clean. Most of the motels I stayed at, the bathroom weren't clean and the shower usually has mold growing on the corners but this motel's bathroom as well as the shower was very very clean. I have never seen any bed bugs or cockroaches in the room which was very nice. The price was relatively good considering how clean and nice it was. I have stayed at motels with prices too high and quality very low but this motel was the opposite. The owners are also very kind and respectful. I would highly recommend this motel.
It’s Friday night, unfortunately, there’s not a single chair to recline in, also a shortage of towels / toilet paper. I was interrupted by loud knocking and was briefed in a foreign and loud unprofessional and unreasonable tone, than after my deposit and cash we put down they demanded that there are absolutely no guests allowed, and if so an extra 25$ dollar cash per diem is to be paid immediately or must vacate and not visa or any other major debit/credit card is excepted. I feel like it was not only an uncomfortable and uninteresting experience, I was given stern and set boundaries for my guest or any would be guest that is my patron of invitation. I’ve been to wonderful, amazing and a lot of great hotels in my time, and also some good value added, quaint, yet clean and professional locations, and just expect more. Customer service and how your treat your guest or guest(s) in general regardless of financial stature or social disposition, I expect what I, myself would offer if I ran a striving business, to any degree large or small. I felt remorse for this Indian family, husband and wife that obviously don’t understand proper American hospitality and professionalism. I see that they are a struggling business, and tried to reason with their request or even relocate to another close and better hotel, with “chairs” to “sit” and more amenities. Some people just don’t understand that I value respect, and customer service and how you treat other individuals or your patrons. I asked for my refund, and had not yet unpacked even, and deposit but was rudely declined, then asked to pay. Lol. Then they came and gave me a $10 bill minutes later. This is almost insulting...I had to to give this 10$ bill back to the business owner and wished him good luck, and was still polite, but I am very taken back, disappointed and baffled. Get some chairs, sir. Have more than 2 towels bro. Stock your bathroom with toilet paper and try to be a better business. Seriously. Luckily I was to book another place on a Friday night under the circumstances and already so glad I’m not feeling like I did, honestly. I hope this is read and understood not only as the truth, but a lesson for those that are absent minded and naive to having a clean, nice and comfortable stay, furnishing, staff, legal documentation and upfront stipulation or limitation of any degree. Before leaving I went and gave the owner of this poorly ineffective model of a business, with lack of integrity, respect to personal privacy and obviously a struggling one at any rate, back the petty 10 dollars, the rest of the money I put down for the stay and left very displeased and misunderstood. I will never revisit this property or endure any lack of basic customer service ever again. This review is to state a honest, truthful, detailed and also very fair and valid customer experience. No thank you but... Thank you for this eye opening, disappointing and unfortunate experience though. I learned and now know exactly what I never want again in a hotel stay, because I expect decent standards. I am the customer. You always treat and over extend a warm welcome to all prospects or interested parties, number #1. with a good business practice. Relationships, valued trust and good report go a very long way, and THAT is what is valued with me. Ask that to question to any successful and prospering business. The answer is clear. —...drops the mic
UNHEALTHY Worse place I've been..terrible management and plus never got my refund when I told the person in charge in the office about walking in and found BED BUGS and bad smelling .I dont recomend this place they will take your money and let you feed the BED BUGS pets they have and probably u get a few to get back home so you can trash away your home. NOT WORTH IT
Worst place ever!! I was having a seizure and I was told that another tenant told manager to call 911 and that he just walked in my room and look at me having a seizure biting my tongue and just looked at me and walked away. They told him Call 911 and he said not my problem she can die and walked away!!!
Overall the place needs to be vacant in order to be fixed up properly which means up to code enforcement. Sherrina Nicole Lee the real owner #ANUK
Very clean, owners are very friendly. No ice machine or other special amenities but the price is right. I've stayed there plenty of times and haven't ever seen any bugs.
