We ate here for more than 6 years now. The quality of food is great. The price is reasonable. If you like Japanese / Korean food than Laku is the place for you.
Great location with a variety of dishes! Welcoming staff and fast service.
I normally don’t give reviews, but I’m compelled to write about my experience at this restaurant. I am not from the area but I was there for a meeting. We were hungry and looked up a near by sushi restaurant. Found this place with decent reviews and decided to give it a try. We were very hungry and received our order pretty quickly. Everything was flooded with mayo and sauces. You couldn’t see what was in the rolls because of all the sauce on them. The sushi pieces were humongous! The taste was not that of sushi. It tasted like raw fish that you bought at a fish market several days ago. Literally disgusting! I ate some kani salad, toro bomb and 1 piece of the “sushi”. We decided not to eat most of the food, thank god! We packed it to go so not to insult the staff and dumped it in the garbage can outside of the restaurant. Worst of all, I didn’t sleep all night. My stomach has been hurting for 24 hours. Definitely, not tasty and NOT fresh! Save yourself, don’t eat here!
Really good price for special rolls. I won’t call it a sushi place, but they have good rolls. We really like Pier17, Sakura, V.I.P. rolls, but honestly all rolls were really good, loaded with fish. The owners were so friendly, and kept on giving us complimentary soup and side dishes. With tax and tips, we each paid $34. Can’t believe it is the price you pay in Morristown. Strongly recommend for family and friends dinner or a quick bite by yourself.
The food was good overall, but I was really put off by how rushed the server was. We had only been looking at the menu less than 5min when she started asking if we were ready to order every minute 3 times in a row. I ordered even though I would have liked to have more time looking at the menu. There were only 2 other groups there and it was pretty empty so I don’t understand the rush.
The server also was rude about the amount of food we ordered. She basically said we ordered too much food and was trying to convince us to order less?? I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want more money. It was my partner’s birthday and we also hadn’t eaten much that day. Sushi isn’t super filling, which is why I got 3 rolls. My partner got a soup and 1 special roll and apparently that was too much food but I don’t really understand how. I wanted to order a few a la cart pieces but she kept rushing us through ordering and trying to collect the menus while I was still talking, so I only ordered 2.
The atmosphere and decor also were really lacking. It’s a shame, because I actually did enjoy the sushi and I like the fact that they also have Korean food.
I decided to round up from 4.5 stars.
I’m from Chicago and the tuna sashimi at this place is the first that has the taste of Japan fish markets (I’ve gotten used to tuna sashimi with little flavor and tastes like nothing). Here for a three day business trip and ordered their Chirashi bowl twice over the three day period.
I would opt for the miso soup side here, I found the salad and ginger dressing very underwhelming. Minus .5 stars because on my first order at 8pm the rice on the chirashi was hard/not fresh. And one the second chirashi the rice was normal but there was no radish in the bowl! I love the crunch. So hoping there will be better consistency. Would definitely order from here again
This place is great for sushi, not one of my top favorites but their sushi is great. The last time I came I had their chicken teriyaki box, and it honestly tasted as if it was warmed up in the microwave. I decided to give it another chance and tried new items on their menu. The ramen, although it doesn’t look appealing in the picture, it was very tasty. As well as the sushi of course, their tempura ice cream is amazing!!!!
If you are in the mood for sushi, live around the area, and want a quick bite definitely come to Laku and give it a try.
Just OK. There are a lot of options, but no one at the table was thrilled with the food. Service was good but water was never refilled. My first visit and probably last, there are better options.
Terrific casual Japanese bon the edge of the center of Morristown just west of the green.
Traditional Japanese food done right and at reasonable prices. Seats have no backs and the dining area is minimalist but comfortable. Service was efficient a

This is one of our favorite places in Morristown! The coffee is phenomenal. The Turkish coffee is very authentic and all of their lattes and cappuccinos are also delicious. Their baklava is some of the best Iâve ever had. I really could not recomme
Itâs hard to find the words to describe how delicious the food is and the atmosphere. That candle you see burning is actually edible ð± and it tasted very good as well. Service was great. Salmon was very juicy and well cooked. You have to try the
