Excellent room for the price. The outside of the building could use some beautification and there is no on-site staff after 9 pm until 9 am, but the staff is very helpful and friendly. No secondary lock on the door, and the TV cabinet was not set up. Very clean and nicely set up room. I was able to park directly outside of my room. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of on-site staff.
The staff is great. Very friendly. Safe area. The other motel guests were friendly - many who seem to have been there for an extended period of time. There are so many things to do in this secluded area that the negatives made it worth it. Negatives are office hours and rooms could use a good cleaning. I will definitely stay there again.
We spent 5 days at this hotel. It seems as though the current owners have recently purchased it because they are doing a lot of work on it. It is a dated property but they have nice amenities (colored towels!), a gym, kitchen and laundry. The floor of our room was linoleum and I had to ask them to clean it (and they did). I had to clean the coffee maker before I could use it. The most amazing thing was that it was really inexpensive. It is located in a gated resort community and the surroundings are very pleasant. Just a 10 minute from Angleton, where we were visiting. We would definitely stay there again.
Lakeview Hotel was a fun stay. Beautiful views and you can't get any friendlier than the lady behind the counter was. She was professional and had a very positive attitude. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I love the homely feeling of the place. It is located conveniently down the street from a convenience store and a restaurant. It is a little weird going through a guarded gate to get there, but it's worth it for the relaxing stay. I was unable to experience all that Lakeview Hotel had to offer, but the next time I'm in West Columbia or even in the surrounding area, I will be sure to stay here again. I highly recommend Lakeview Hotel to anyone that wants a clean and comfortable nights stay. A+
The room we got was very outdated, dingy, and upclean. Other rooms in the complex were newer, updated and nice (other family got a nice room). I had to go buy slippers because I did not want to walk on the carpet Really gross, but we were in town for a funeral and didn't have any other option. It really felt like someone could have passed away in that room. Sheets had to be changed before we would stay there as they were unclean. note: our stay was pre-covid so things could have improved.
Staff was courteous. Left phone charger in room, went back to get it and the lady at front desk was calling guys from my work group to let them know they had left their chargers as well. The price is right for room quality but no weird smells and it was clean. Quietest hotel I've ever stayed at. It is inside a gated community.
I have never stayed in a dirtier more disgusting hotel in my life. For starters, I am highly allergic to smoke and when entering the room the first time I was overwhelmed with the smell of old cigarette buts. I then noticed that one of the beds appeared to have not been made much less cleaned (see picture of sheets below). It got worse from there. Dirty counter top (bugs and dirt). The black hair in the sink was inexcusable, and if that wasn’t bad enough, there were spiders, webs and spider eggs everywhere. This is such a shame because Columbia Lakes is such a wonderful place to visit, beautiful and serene with a great restaurant (LaCasona). Shame on Columbia Lakes for allowing an establishment that no one should stay for free much less $70. Needless to say there was no where else to go but to sleep in my car. All hotels I called were booked due to families displaced from Hurricane Harvey. There are no excuses for thus. If I had it to do over again,I would have reclined my seat and spent the night in the Walmart parking lot.
In this day and age of $135/night and up rooms It would be hard to give a negative review on a $69 room so I won't. I mean after all.....what do you expect? The room was reasonably clean, had a microwave, apartment size fridge, the water was hot and it was very quiet and believe me when I say that I've had worse that cost more. I was flying solo so not a big deal for me however I'm not sure the wife would have approved. For what I got and for the price I paid I would have to say that yea.....I'd stay here again.
It's the people...and the place. The experience is made richer by the people you "meet" while walking through the exhibits. They tell the history through the "voices" of those that were there. The large house is unfurnished, but open so you can fil
