Lakes Area Nourish Food Bank - Food bank in Lakewood - 6900 Steilacoom Blvd SW, USA

I went there. Had to wait for the ladies to finish their conversation about their children For 5 minutes. Mind you I was the only person in line when I did get there to get my food. Told the lady I forgot a bag. It was my first time there. She told me I was lying. It was not my first time there and next time that I do go there. She will make me go out to my car and get the banana box. That they gave me ask me if I was military when it is on ID Which shouldn't make a difference. When we were almost finished in the pantry, the lady grabbed the cart pushed us out and told us to hurry up.

The only complaint I have is that there is one lady who works there in the grocery part that is rude condescending and completely insensitive.. she does not pay attention to the number of people in the household card.. if she doesn't like her position and she doesn't like volunteering perhaps she should just quit or be a hell of a lot nicer than she is. edit I tried to call their phone at 3:03 a.m... clearly they take their phone off the hook.. how disappointing

It's not to bad of a food bank. They serve Mondays Thursdays and Fridays. There is a wait to get your things but that's to be expected.

Don't get me wrong the people were great I received my my stuff now here's where the lower stars first you have to go downstairs which means that everything you get has to be carried back up and two it's a little difficult to know which door to go through and less everybody's outside waiting to go in there's no signs

I like the place you get pretty good stuff and you're treated with respect and dignity.

I was there on 3/20/23 they put up a new sign " all clients must carry thier own food upstairs to thier car by themselves (unless your handicapped) I am handicapped (28 surgeries since 98) once I got my food I looked for help getting up the stairs, didn't see a volunteer, so I asked the guy giving meat out (Kirby I heard someone call him) his response floored me and everyone who heard our exchange! He told me I had to learn how to get them upstairs by myself or bring someone! I informed him of thier sign! Told me he don't care! Do it yourself or bring

I'm not sure what I would do without them! Thank you for your generosity and thank you to all of you who volunteer their time to help us!

I have great respect at this food bank. Nice people that enjoy their jobs, helping others. If you need food, when you out and looking something for the family or yourself.
