Lakeland Village Resort by Vacasa - Resort hotel in South Lake Tahoe - 3535 Lake Tahoe Blvd, USA

We stayed at unit 432. The unit was dated and had more than a few problems. It is managed by GrandWelcome, so when you go to the front desk to report a problem they tell you they don't manage that property and give you a number to call. They also told me that they don't respond very well, nice to hear on your first day. The carpet is threadbare in spots, the upstairs loft had a rug pull that was a tripping hazard. The master bathroom toilet refilled every 37 seconds (yes I counted), I had to shut it off as the running water is very loud in the pipes, couldn't sleep. It took 2 calls to get the toilet to improve to about 30-45 minutes between refills, gave up and lived with it. The outside garbage bin had a busted latch and had the previous guest's garbage still in it. Bears are strong enough to lift the heavy lid with their claws, as we found out the next day and had to pick up someone else's garbage so we wouldn't get fined. The loft's 'queen' bed looks good in the picture but the mattress is about 2" thick, so might be good for little kids but not adults. And the '2nd' bath is extremely small, I never saw a sink as small as that! No room for a toothbrush or anything. The bathroom is under the stairs to the loft, so use the pictures to see how small that is. You can sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time. The 'gym' is in the main building and had minimal equipment. If you don't see a picture assume it's something they don't want you to see. The roads are under construction, putting in some large pipes. Cars near the work were covered with dirt, glad we were not too close.||All in all a bad experience and not worth the price. I sent an email to grandwelcome and asked for some compensation, got a reply that they will pass along my comments, and that was it.

We had high hopes for this place. We had hoped that it was comparable to Tahoe Beach and Ski Club but it definitely was not. The property itself was really run-down. The screen door did not Glide smoothly, it was very clunky. There were various holes in the walls. The place was in general disrepair. The whole place seemed very dated. The parking was very challenging. Two of us had spiders on our pillows at different times over the weekend. The pool and beach were not very monitored very well. The pool is cold. No wrist bands or people keeping the general public out. ||We encountered two bears during our stay and one was staying under the porch across from us. It was very close. The security guard was there to be sure that everything was ok. That was helpful. We were able to get extra towels from Zalanta down the street. Checkout was simple and easy. I would not stay here again. It was not worth the money.

I have never left a review, but this time I have to due to the lack of customer service. I booked a room thought Marriott Homes and Villas thinking that Marriott would take care of me being that we spend tens of thousands a year on hotels. however when I visited this property and specifically unit 415. I was greeted by cob webs at the door and walked through a cobweb inside the house. found live spiders and the home was disgusting. this property will never be a place I would stay or recommend to anyone ever. not only was it full of cobwebs, but it smelled musty, was stained 30 year old or so carpet, the beds are hard as a rock and the list goes on. I am exremeley disappointed in Marriott, but the fact is that the village would not help Marriott out as well. I did not think that I need to contact the actually village because I booked the place through Marriott. I will be posting this on as many sites as I can to spread the word. if the villages want to call me and to discuss a refund then I might be willing to take this off.

Loved that we were within 5 minute drive from grocery store, restaurants, and water activities. Our unit had really slow-flowing drains in our bathrooms for the shower and you have to hold the toilet flusher for at least 10 seconds. They need to clean out their drains. Also there was ongoing construction in the parking lots; so it was inconvenient to find parking but you could eventually get a space. Otherwise enjoyed the location.

An older complex but great location and they have a snack bar on the beach with reasonable menu and prices. It’s a quiet complex with lots of parking. Some remodeling happen but you can only tell because construction people and machines are visible. Right across the street from Whole Foods and the units have kitchens.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. We rented a condo here during the last week of July, 2024. The condo was disgusting. I found feces in one of the beds and the carpets were stained throughout the condo with who knows what. There was no security to deal with drunk, loud and obnoxious teenagers in the pool and hot tub area. The front desk gives you a business card to call or email for concerns.

Review for unit 612: This home was deceptively marketed with pictures probably of another home that made it seem safe to live in, and listed as having a private washer/ dryer. However, when we arrived, the washer / dryer was locked and the owner/ vacasa refused access to it. The two bedrooms on 2nd floor were unsafe and mostly unusable throughout the stay - the first had a low single hung window with screen door missing, so that any child could topple our easily. The second had a similar window, jammed shut with instructions to not open it, and once opened on day 2, stayed open with a flimsy duct taped screen door. This was during a heat wave, which made the room unbearably hot, as there was no AC or fans either. So instead of using the bedroom we slept on the floor in the living room with the sliding door open on the first 2 days. The screen door of living room too was broken and inoperable and stayed so throughout our stay, so we had to sleep with the door open. This despite the security of Vacasa telling us that there is a bear that roams and sleeps in the property every night . They came out and duct taped the screens on day 2, leaving the windows on 2nd floor permanently open, which continued to keep the home and room pretty unsafe, but cooler. We asked to be moved to a safe home - but they didnt move us. The manager promised to refund the fees and cleaning charge for false advertising, but have now changed their mind and wont refund. It's a pity, as the unit is in a great location, right at the beach - but the premium charged is not compatible with the home and the service offered. Advice to future renters: Dont rent this unit till management confirms that all windows and doors have been replaced. And even then, dont rent it for too many days, as to do laundry you have a long walk of 15 minutes to access limited washer / dryers and will have to waste 3 hours per load washed.

These look really nice from the outside, and I love that they have everything that we want/need, but that's about it. We had an issue with check-in, but the lady at the front desk told us the only way to continue was to talk to someone over the phone. After waiting on hold for 15 min or so, the customer service rep told us we'd have to figure it out on their app. After another 10 to 15 min, we were able to resolve the issue. Once we got into the room, we loved what we saw. The place is so spacious. The kitchen comes fully equipped with pots, pans, cups, plates, and utensils. We got to enjoy the balcony a bit. There were 3 different things on the wall to regulate A/C, but we figured out the hard way that only one of them actually works. The floors were really creeky, and you could hear the neighbors. Within an hour, we heard thumping constantly from the upstairs unit. It sounded like hammering. After hearing it for 20-30 min, we called the front desk. They sent somewhere over to resolve the issue. The next morning, we had the hammering again. When I got into the bed, there was someone else's hair in it 🤮 Super disappointing for such a beautiful and potentially wonderful place. I don't think we'll be coming back, though.
