Lake Shore Cabins - Log cabins in Ontonagon - 400 Lincoln Ave, USA

We had such a wonderful time @ Lake Shore Cabins. As soon as we pulled up, we spoke with Rick and had a great conversation. He was very friendly and explained everything about the cabin. My family and I were in cabin 6. Very clean and our view of Lake Superior was stunning. This was our home base while we hiked the porkies during the day and came back to the cabin and enjoyed our beach area. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Shore Cabins.

We love it here! This is our first time back in 4 years and we truly missed our get away from reality. We had been coming here every summer or fall for years. Looking out at Lake Superior while sitting by a fire pit is so calming and relaxing! Rick and Kitty are super nice and the cabins are clean and nicely decorated. Thanks

Our family of four stayed here for two nights and had a great time. When we called and talked to Rick months in advance to make our reservation, it seemed like our kind of laid-back place. It certainly was! We enjoyed sitting in the porch swing in the screened in porch listening and watching the waves. Also enjoyed a fire that we cooked dinner over and made s’mores at later. Note that firewood is not provided with the cabin but can easily be acquired locally. You can also burn small pieces of the driftwood on the beach. We also enjoyed the sauna one evening that Rick fired up for us. The cabin itself is obviously older but has been well-maintained and the needed updates have been done. One thing to note is that there is not a microwave. There is a full kitchen with everything else so it was not a big deal. We were in cabin two which was on the end so we had some extra privacy. There is a small bathroom with a toilet and sink in the cabin and a common shower house nearby with a private shower to use. There is also a nice store and restaurant almost across the street that is very convenient if you need anything. We would definitely love to return here someday and relax some more.

We contacted Rick early in January 2022 to secure a cabin close to the lake and offered to send a deposit for a June rental. He said not to worry that he would contact us in April and work out the details. It was nice not to provide $$ so far in advance, and everything went smoothly. The cabin we were in was #5 and it was 10' from the shore and it was great to have the waves lull you to sleep. It was decorated very rustic with no TV or microwave. It's a throwback to simpler times of the 1950's or 1960's when you had to make your own food and fun! There is a stool and sink in the bathroom and you use of a bathhouse to shower that's not a far walk. It includes a working sauna, which is a treat at the end of a long day of enjoying lake Superior and/or hiking at the Porcupine Mountains which are 2 miles away with lots of beautiful waterfalls. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the UP and hope to return in the future and stay there again!

Poor customer relations. The guy was rude, violent and worse. I would recommend another place to stay. This one is not worth the issues. Trip advisor wont let me post a real review which is a shame. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Excellent location on Lake Superior. Gorgeous sunsets and relaxing beach. Quaint cabin. Our only complaint is the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable—sagged in middle. We tried two beds and both were tough to sleep in.

While there is not a ton of information on the website our stay did not disappoint - & you should definitely check it out. Very clean /decent sized cabin that sat on top of the private beach. Each cabin had their own firepit/ table/ slice of the beach. So beautiful to cook dinner, watch the sunset, and hangout in the water. ||||While cabin does not have shower it does have toliett/sink. The shower house is super nice & reminded me of being at the spa (it even has a sauna you can use in the evenings) . Also since the property only has a few cabins had no problem getting in for showers. ||||Easy reservation via phone call/email & onsite owner. Right down the road from Lake of the Clouds (couldn't really get any closer!) ||||Thank you for sharing your beautiful property so we could enjoy our few days in the Porkies.
