Recently stayed at The Lake Motel 2 nights; Room 16. Room was small but we knew that before booking. Contactless check-in. Very friendly host. Clean, quiet, cozy, & reasonably priced. Room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to food, convenience store, and great scenic views of the River/Lake. Plenty of space for boat parking as well. Highly recommend!
I have stayed at this motel twice now in the past 6 months. First time was room 16, it was perfect for the solo traveler, 1 full size bed, clean, cozy and has everything you need to be comfortable. Second stay was in room 17, much bigger room, 2 full size beds, clean, quiet and perfect. The Good: + affordable & close to everything + clean from the bathroom to the bed + retro feel, but has wifi & ton of channels + contactless check in & out + very responsive host, quick & friendly + AC unit worked great on the hot days + mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker + river look out across the street + Kwik Trip just a short walk next door + quiet and peaceful at night I will always stay at the motel when I visit the area. Thanks Brittany!
I stayed 2 nights the first weekend of February 2024. I booked the room through Airbnb, just stumbled across the listing and took a chance. I usually stay at chain hotels, this time I wasn’t looking to pay an arm and a leg and I was looking for small, quiet, affordable and locally owned. Found it!||I stayed in room 16, this room has one full sized bed, a small desk, chair, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, flat screen TV, bedside table, 2 lamps, a cabinet to store items and homey decor. The bathroom is small, clean and has everything you would expect to need in a bathroom, no tub but a walk in shower.||The good…|+ clean, fresh smelling and cozy.|+ AC & heat that work great.|+ quiet, didn’t hear other guests once.|+ tons of channels on flat screen.|+ no contact check in, introvert friendly :)|+ lock box at assigned room to get key.|+ on the river, eagles everywhere.|+ Kwik Trip next door for essentials.|+ close to everything, but secluded.|+ affordable and locally owned.|+ prompt communication with owner.||The bad…|- not a damn thing! I want to keep this place a secret so I can always snag a room when I need a quiet, peaceful getaway.||(heads up, the Kwik Trip next door isn’t open 24 hours, but drive a couple minutes up the road and you will find another one that is 24/7.)||In closing…|I mentioned in the communication with the owner I was in town because my brother had passed away and I needed to come “home” to just be here and have some peace and time. When I arrived in my room, the owner had left a small bouquet of flowers with a lovely note. Just that personal touch was so unexpected and heartfelt and I will never forget that. This experience has inspired me to always look for locally owned, independent motels.
For the price was more than adequate only issue I had the mattress was firm and I like a soft mattress. Air conditioner was a little noisy but overall was satisfied.
Clean rooms and great prices when ever I'm in the area fishing I stay here highly recommend
The owner is very respectful. Always cleans the rooms and gives you fresh towels each day. Would recommend this place for anybody looking for a place to stay in that area.
We have stayed here a few times and each time has been great! Owners are very nice and the rooms are clean. We’ve never had an issue here!
A small room and it's clean. I give 4 stars 'cause the door doesn't have a deadbolt lock. I'm not sure when I have a deep sleep, but the door can be open or not.
Absolutely amazing wines!! The owner was so friendly & helpful. I fell in love with the Black Cherry Boardwalk wine, definately a must try!! I am so glad I found this winery, as I have a new favorite place to go with visiting my son at UWL.
Amazing. Best Boba in the area. Definitely will be back. The Brown Sugar Boba is so good and so it the Cookies and Creme Frappe. Can't believe it took us this long to try this place. Will definitely try some of the food next time.
