Our dogs LOVE running around the Lake. We walk along the street too that takes you to the Waterfalls over by the Merritt Parkway in between exit 45 and 46. Watch it when it rains because it gets muddy. There is a porta potty too. I think a playground for the kids. It's a nice hike.
Beautiful place, highly recommend it, especially around the fall time. Plenty of other dogs for your dog to socialize, but the hike around the lake is worth the visit. They have multiple trails, easy/yellow and moderate/red.
This is a nice place for a cool morning hike. Be sure to wear your best sneakers for walking. There are steep hills and terrains. The passing water flow is a nice touch. Bring your bug spray and water bottles.
A place for a real hike where you can get a lot of positive emotions and enjoy the view of beautiful lakes.
Lake Mohegan is amazing, has a swimming 🏊♂️ beach ⛱, water children's park to play, lots of parking, A river runs into the said lake and river is great for fishing or fly fishing and you can catch trout on the river or bass in the lake . Amazing place to walk, swimming, fishing.
The absolute best place locally for dog walking. Off-leash is allowed. If your dog loves to be in water at this is the place
Scenic, dog friendly water bodies, calming waterfalls, uneven terrain works your various muscle groups. A great breakaway from mundane day to day routine and an experience to connect to yourself
If you love your dog and want to make them incredibly happy, go here. General Electric donated this land called the Cascades to locals for hiking, swimming and dog friendly activities. It is amazing. In the upper parts of the trails, once you get 100' away from any parking or picnic area, the dogs can be off-leash along as they remain "on the brushed path" and remain within the owner's control. Most dogs sniff each and eith play or move on. In 9 years, I haven't had any real issues there and the benefits of being able to have my dog run free for miles as I hike the trails is tremendous. The dogs can swim in the "Upper pond" that is the highest altitude accessible pond which cascades down to Lake Mohegan. Pictures opportunities everywhere. At no point are you allowed to swim with your dog anywhere and dangerous areas are well posted. The water can get very deep and fast in some areas and pose a risk. There are several very slow, meandering parts of the water as well as upper trails in case your canine companion prefers walking over water sports. The outer boundaries have some fencing but as the rules clearly state, have your dog under your control. One side of the park does border the Merritt and it would not take long for those 4-legs to make it to the Highway. Lately there is talk of eliminating the dogs. I don't know why. 95% of the people there on the trails are dog owners and 98% of them are very responsible as far as picking up after their dogs or controlling unforeseen behavior. I speculate this comes from the public beach side which has had a large financial infusion and has ruined the paths with clear cutting trees along the lake...because why would you go to the woods to see trees or walk your dog? I highly suggest you go and become vocal in keeping the park open for all.
Iâve been training with Chris at KMK for the last two years. In that time, I have experienced tremendous improvement in my strength and agility which has improved my performance. KMK not only offers the BEST trainers and equipment around, but also
