What a wonderful little light house. Go and get a day pass at the state park and walk the beaches. You’ll love walking up the spiral staircase to the most beautiful views of the lake.
An amazing sight almost hidden away. Exploring the lighthouse was a lot of fun. The water in the lake is low but the scenery is still absolutely gorgeous! Lots of picnic tables and a few restrooms. Definitely going to return later in the summer for a picnic or just to enjoy another day!
Even if your old, you can still make it to the top. Just watch your head. 🤕 Nice view but the real beauty was the outside of the structure itself.
Love this lake, will DEFINITELY return! Big lake with sandy beaches, and nice gradual grade into the water so my kids could wade in and I didn't have to be afraid of them dropping off a ledge. Water was clean and refreshing and the people were polite. We went on July 4th and it was PACKED! We still found a spot big enough for our family and the other family we were visiting. (5 people in each family, so a party of 10 people total) $12 a car for the whole day. Perfect imo for a cheap day of fun
End of September 2021 - Nice quiet park. Clean and well maintained. Lake is down approx. 10+ feet. Walking on beach you will find a few plastic bottles, bags, broken glass and broken plastic. We did not fish so no opinion on that but looks like a very nice fishery. We would consider visiting this park again in the future but no longer than 3 days as this will provide ample time to visit other attractions in the area.
Worth the few minutes off the beaten path to visit. You can climb up to the top which is awesome. A few mesquites while we were there but no issues. Cell service kind of spoty on the way in so make sure you know what road name to turn on.
Cool inland lighthouse, great view!! Worth a stop if you're in the area. Picnic, camping, recreational area, boat ramp for lake access. Drivable "beach"
Beautiful huge lake, but no real shore line, you can find a place to stick a chair usually. Campers and boats are the way to go!
