Lake Harney Wilderness Area - Hiking area in Geneva - 2187 Osceola Fish Camp Rd, USA

It depends on the experience you seek. This area is good for birding, hanging out at the observation tower, fishing... And not so great for hiking, which is why I visited. The walking trail is a simple loop with a minimal canopy located on a flood plain. It was completely flooded and up to our ankles in late March.

Absolutely beautiful!! I recommend going early for Sunrise. Great hike(I did the loop twice which totaled 4.6 miles). Not strenuous at all, just a beautiful hike through the Florida wilderness!

Great view of Lake Harney from the observation tower. A short walk from the parking lot along a concrete sidewalk then a slow rising boardwalk. The property is well maintained and clean when we went. No bathrooms, no picnic tables. There is a 0.75 mile loop trail, not paved, mostly grassland, with both ends at the parking lot.

Easy trail for beginners in Seminole county

Great place for a short hike. Take a 5 min hike up to the look out tower. You will see a beautiful view of lake harney. There is also some information about the local birds. If the water is low you can use the stair case from the tower down to another trail. Our favorite trail is the first one you see coming into the park. It will lead you on a short 30 min walk to the st johns river and an ole fish camp.

Good short trail hike to kill an hour. All Primary loops disrupted still from water retention. Was worth exploring for observation view. Bald eagles, deer, alligators and spiders.. giant spiders.. afford you things to see. Took 2 year old. Hike it baby!

Nice remote hiking spot with a lot of wildlife.

You can get a nice view of the lake harney from observation tower. Undeveloped roads.
