This is a cool area to hang out in. Parking at Bert Cooper Trails allowed me to catch footage of a live hot air balloon sailing over Lake Hefner.
I have to give this place 5 stars as it is near and dear to my heart. I shoot photos out there and it Is my spiritual place. I take a yoga mat out to sit on and pray, meditate or shoot some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see. I do wish the city would revitalize the area and really make it a spot people know about.
I spend a lot of time at this park sitting on the bench, pretending to be in deep thought. It's a nice place to go for a walk and meet adorable doggies along the way.
Beautiful views, lots of space to run, pavilions and parks! We have utilized these spaces quite a bit with kids. Great for dog walks and wonderful walks!
This part of Lake Hefner was perfect for morning walks! It's a nice scenic view with paved walkways that somewhat wrap around the lake. There are a lot of cyclists here so be on the lookout if you are walking your dog. Also, bring a hat! There isn't much shade aside from the little picnic areas. Overall, would come here again as it is a large space and does not feel crowded. Perfect for your doggo but be sure to bring poop bags as there aren't bags provided.
It was a beautiful evening! The weather was perfect for a bike ride or walk on the 9 to 10 miles of walkway and bike path that circles Lake Hefner. I opted for a bike ride and then sat and watched the sun set with a duck. Lol! There are restaurants on the lake front if you get hungry as well. Lots of people that enjoy the outdoors come here and throw a ball or pop up a hammock. Dogs on leashes are also allowed. A nice place to relax and enjoy nature!
Usually come here at least one weekly just to look at and walk along the water. Beautiful lake with a beautiful view. Always a highlight of my week!
We had a romantic walk here and sat on the bench out by the waterside. It was just before sunset so the sun was pretty bright and glary but we still had a wonderful time. It was so scenic and the breeze was so refreshing. All those strollers and rollerbladers seemed happy and glad to have a place to get outdoors and have a safe good time. So grateful we found this place!
