I enjoy this park a lot. Susan in the front office is very helpful whenever you ask her. The rangers are also great and very helpful. The park and pool are clean. The only knock I have is that some of the parking spots are not level so I had to manually level my RV because the Auto level was getting confused. The fact that it's not level also prevents my black and gray tanks from emptying completely. I have to walk the hoses to clear the remaining waste water out of the lines. In my opinion, they definitely need to level them and add concrete or gravel pads. The roads are also in terrible condition with some showing erosion from the rain. But the staff definitely goes out of their way to make you a satisfied customer.

** No Wifi at all - no paid options either ** Our Fourth of July stay at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe was okay, but it had its ups and downs. The campground itself was decent, but we had a hard time finding a RV spot that wasn't already taken by annual members, since it is first come first serve and you are not assigned a space. Eventually, we settled on a site with no trees, which meant it was pretty hot during the day. One major disappointment was the lack of WiFi, despite it being advertised online. On the plus side, the lake and surrounding nature were nice, providing a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, Thousand Trails Lake Conroe has its charms, but be prepared to navigate around the quirks and confirm amenities before booking.

We stayed almost two weeks and everyday one of the 2 pools were closed and on Sunday both pools were closed. We also came home from eating breakfast and everyone's power was off and our dog was in the camper. We weren't called or given any notice about this. A neighbor said it would be roughly off for 2 hours, it's been well past two hours and still no one has power. Still no call, note, or anything from the park employees. This is absolutely ridiculous and such poor management!!!!

Have a camping pass, glad I didn't buy more! Stayed for the first time, and was just amazed at how much needed to be done to just make it a good stay! So much needs to be fixed or worked on, hopefully they do something, it could be a nice place!

Pros: - Big Rig Friendly 40 foot 5th wheel with 50 amp and sewer/water. Some pull through sites as well. - Pool area was nice and well kept.. - Lake and beach were very nice - Two ponds for fishing - Clean bathrooms and showers with hot water and good water pressure - Staff was friendly - Activities center was nice with a pavilion and different games and activities to do - Pickleball courts, basketball courts, mini golf course, playground, dog park, open field to run around in, activities center, and pool area were all in one central location. - Multiple laundry rooms that were clean enough - Close to Houston (1 hour) and had nice surrounding area. - Libraries, parks, grocery stores, etc… all reachable within 15-20 min. -Starlink had great access and Verizon coverage was decent as well. I did not try my Verizon hotspot. Cons: - Sites were a bit tight but we barely spent time there because we were off at the other areas fishing or playing - Roads are rough in some areas and could use some patching. - we wish the pool was heated and the hot tub was functional. Overall this may be our favorite TT campground thus far. We are already planning our trip back.

We had to try 3 different sites before we found one that worked. The first was so un-level that my auto-levelers gave up. The second did not have power, which we didn’t realize until after we got all set up. We were going to just stay there using our generator when we were told we couldn’t and had to move if we wanted electricity. We had success with our 3rd try , the levelers worked and it had power, but the site turned out to be covered by broken glass. Not good. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Let me start off by saying we've stayed here multiple times but this is probably the last. We checked in on 3/10 around 4 pm and we were supposed to stay 3 weeks. When checking in, we were told sites were slim pickings, as it's their busy time. I get that and understand. Where my frustration begin to grow as we drove around was when I counted 30 (maybe more but I stopped counting) small 30 amp RVs in large 50 amp spots. That's not necessarily the campgrounds fault BUT as someone with a 43 ft fifth wheel, it's frustrating that folks with small rigs take the large sites built for larger RVs. There were multiple 30 amp sites open too. There were also about 20 of the nicer sites with bags over the pedestal, which usually means something's isn't working. If it's your busy time, why wouldn't you fix these as they go down? This is on the campground. 20 is quite excessive. We settled into a buddy site hoping to find a better site in the AM. We drove around and found two sites we liked. Low and behold, came back to grab one of those and ANOTHER 30 amp rig had already backed into it. Went to the 2nd and another large rig was backing in. Okay, that's our fault so couldn't be too mad, at least they had a large RV. Continued to drive around and saw even more small campers taking up large sites so we decided to pack up and move to the KOA 30 minutes away cutting our stay 20 days short. They didn't have this issue previously as you paid $3 per night for 50 amp and no one wanted to pay, now they don't and the 30 amp campers take the 50 amp spots. I book 120 days out and finding a site that fits my RV shouldn't be so cumbersome. Hopefully they start assigning sites soon so this issue doesn't keep happening. Just be warned, it's frustrating finding a site. On a positive note, staff is extremely nice!

The gate guard was helpful in giving us a map and showing us where we would most likely find a pull through site long enough for our truck and 5th wheel. This is important to Thousand Trails members who are on the 1st come, first serve situation. W
