Buildings were not well maintained. The pool was on the cooler side and the hottub was out of commission. Great location.
Nice place. The management staff was very helpful. Even though our cabin wasn't on the lake, we had good views. They have lifts for the boats, not just slips, so you can get your boat out of the water.

If you are looking for a quiet, lovely retreat, this is it! The unit we staying in was a very comfortable 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath. I thought it would be small but it was very efficiently laid out with lots of storage. The kitchen was was well stocked and perfect for working on Thanksgiving food. There was even a drying rack for clothing. The staff treated everyone so well and were kind and helpful. I loved the little library with outstanding views of the lake. I would highly recommend this resort!
Our unit had a lovely view of Lake Carlos. Our unit was very clean, pleasantly decorated, had a nice fireplace and good internet access. We really enjoyed our stay. Although the pool area was generally clean, the top inside of the pool above the water line had a lot of black residue. The changing room floor was not clean. Other than the pool issues, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again soon.
I go here every year with ALL my cousins. And it's so fun with them all to go to the pool, go to the lake, and to just be with them and have fun.
We loved the location and amenities at Lake Carlos Villas. Extremely clean, well stocked units and kitchens most have close-up lake views of Lake Carlos. Pool complex was clean and warm enough water. Location is away from the busy highways, but close to the downtown shops and many restaurant offerings in Alexandria. State parks and lakes everywhere around you, including Lake Carlos State Park And Glacial Ridge State Park. WiFi was excellent, staff exceptional. Furniture was slightly dated, or It would have earned 5 stars.
My family has been going to the Villas for 3 generations now. It's my home away from home. Great place for kids and a low-key get away. Lots of things to do at the lake and around the area. Boat rental, and available kayaks, canoe, SUP etc. Ping pong, indoor/outdoor pools, hot tub. Wonderful sunsets. Great community. Some of my best memories are at Lake Carlos!
