My kids and I felt like we were on another planet. The sky was so beautiful, the water was crystal blue. The air was fresh and clean, put this place on your list of places to visit, I promise it won't disappoint!
It's a cute park that has plenty of space for children to play. The lake is pretty but bear in mind it's not natural and it can have some dangerous algae. Bringing cash is recommended as cards aren't accepted. Bathrooms aren't too clean.
Hidden gem in the mountains of Luray, Virginia! My wife and I took our own kayaks out on the lake for a few hours. There were even spots along the banks where you could climb out and just appreciate the beauty. Really nice place to check out!
Lake Arrowhead has been one of our favorite places to go for many years, especially with young children. The beach is clean and the water is shallow, but the kids love it. The views are beautiful. We were there a few weeks ago and it was open with no lifeguards. No fees. Swim at your own risk. We enjoy it a lot!
We purposely visited in Winter, so to see more of the landforms around the lake. The lake's water level was very low, which made picture-taking a bit of a challenge at times, but the park itself is flawless. It's nicely laid out, includes all manner of picnic areas, including a small area on top of a knoll overlooking the lake. It's quite scenic. The Shenandoah range in the background makes this park all the more attractive. There were very few folks here on the day we visited, but the ones we encountered were very friendly. We found the park to be pet-friendly too. It was a beautiful Winter setting, and I imagine in the warmer months when the lake is full, it's simply par excellence.
Went for fishing, no fish, boo.. Beautiful, nice trail walk around the damn. Shelters are standard. Small but decent beach. Enjoy
Awesome little area to break out a kayak or paddle board for a bit. Couple pavilions to have a cookout and a good time
Such an awesome lake to take your pups!! They loved swimming and jumping off the dock and hiking through the wooded area. You get the best of both worlds and we happened to go during off season (early October) so it was completely empty. Great find all around!
