Small airport, big parking lot. They have some souvenir shopping inside. Easy to get in and out. The driving layout reminded me of the Augusta, Georgia Airport. Just a circle with the parking lot in the middle. Long term parking is free if it's 30 minutes or less. You can't sit over on the side, you have to keep driving in a circle until you pull up to pick up or drop off your passenger. The car rental parking lot is also easy to get to. The inside of the building is clean and well kept. The women's bathrooms are also very clean with no odor. All escalators were functioning and they even had stairs available to walk down. Baggage claim was also easy to spot and go up to to grab one's luggage.
Lafayette airport, you can do better than this! My 70 year old mom had a baggage issue and stood in line for over an hour at the United Airlines counter to get this un-provoked treatment. Horrible customer service, probably from an obvious lack of workers. But still no excuse for getting treated this way. Especially after paying these high prices for regional flights.
The airport is pretty new and very pretty. There are a few things that lead me to drop a star. 1) Southwest Airlines don't fly here, 2)No Starbucks, 3)Small airport I went to buy a soda and there wasn't an attendant. Instead, there was a note directing me to pay in one of the other areas. It's just a small airport, but it's pretty and well managed. I like ut much more than the previous Lafayette airport.
I recently had the opportunity to fly out of a new Lafayette regional airport terminal that replaced an old terminal, and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the upgrades. The new terminal was a vast improvement over the old one and made for a more pleasant travel experience. One of the things that struck me immediately was how modern and sleek the new terminal looked. It was clear that much thought and care had gone into the design, from the spacious, light-filled atrium to the clean, contemporary lines of the terminal building itself. Inside the terminal, there were plenty of amenities to make the travel experience more comfortable. The seating areas were comfortable and had plenty of charging ports for electronic devices, which was a nice touch. The terminal also had a range of food and beverage options, which significantly improved over the limited options at the old terminal. The new terminal also made the security process much smoother and more efficient. The security lines were well-organized, and the staff was friendly and helpful. This helped to alleviate some of the stress and frustration that can often come with the security process. Finally, the boarding process was much easier and more organized in the new terminal. The boarding gates were marked and easy to find, and plenty of seating was available for passengers waiting to board their flights. Overall, the new regional airport terminal was a vast improvement over the old one, and I highly recommend it to anyone flying out of the Lafayette airport. The modern design, amenities, and efficient processes combine to create a much more pleasant travel experience. It's clear that a lot of care and attention went into the design and construction of the new terminal, and it shows in the result.
The new airport offers travelers individual and communal workspaces, a food court and plugs for all your technology. Navigating through check-in was seamless, both at the counter and kiosk. A pleasurable experience.
TSA is very quick here. No lines I had an issue with retrieving our tickets with my travel agency and Joshua Mouton with delta did a fantastic job helping us with getting our tickets and holding our seats until last possible minute. He was very patient and understanding even though the flight was completely full. Thanks a million.
Nice airport with no soul. Bring some life with more flights and people! As for the security in the passenger drop off and pickup... Can you get them to chill a bit? Make people feel welcome. They've run off our relatives trying to pick us up and tried to shoo us away while saying goodbye on departure. The place is E M P T Y. Chill security. Make people feel welcome.
It's one of my favorite airports, regardless of size. TSA is always quick, and there is a great restaurant to get breakfast every time I am there.
