La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tucumcari - Hotel in Tucumcari - 2516 S Adams St, USA

Tucumcari is the halfway point on a drive I do several times a year, so I've stayed in several hotels to find my favorite. The La Quinta has become my go-to. The rooms are clean, the beds super comfortable, and the location very easy to get to from the interstate. Since I travel with my two small dogs, I especially appreciate the tile in the rooms, and the dedicated pet area that is just outside the hotel door. I feel very safe at night making the last potty run. :) Highly recommended.

We have stayed at several LaQuintas on our cross country drives every year. This one was well above average. Easy front desk check in, clean lobby, clean room and well lit parking lot. There was a small, area designated for dogs that was convenient. Our only issue was a very strong chemical smell in the room probably from a deep clean. The smell dissipated somewhat by morning. It may have just been our room and we probably should have asked to change. I'm guessing this was an anomaly.

If you’re in the area and need a place to stay this is a great accommodation. Although I don’t suggest staying in the area just because there’s not much around. However if you don’t plan on needing anything from anywhere but a gas station or a couple of places that close early around the area I suggest going here. The breakfast wasn’t terrible 6-9am, they have a waffle maker so that’s fresh. They have other things like eggs and sausage biscuits and gravy which was all very fake but my daughter enjoyed it. They also have juices and milk and coffee. We didn’t end up using pool I believe it closes at 10pm. But the room was nice and clean and bathrooms were well stocked! I was very satisfied with the room and the hotel was great! The staff that we interacted with weren’t rude but weren’t friendly. So don’t have much to say on that aspect but overall the best hotel we stayed in on our road trip across country so far

On our family road trip from Dallas to LA our route from Amarillo to Santa Fe was disrupted with a larger than expected snowstorm that meant we were stranded between the two places and without accommodation booked. Fortunately our Satnav took us to Tucumcari and we managed to secure last minute accommodation at this Inn. Upon arrival we were met with friendly reception staff (despite what was a very unexpected busy afternoon) the rooms were clean and comfortable…and most importantly, warm! Breakfast was simple but adequate. All in all, what could’ve been a disastrous night ended up being a great way to see out the storm. My heart went out to those I could see from our rooms still stranded in the highway all night though!

Great location for travelers with pets. Lovely, clean hotel and rooms. Plenty of towels and soap. They have a nicely set up pet relief area. Parking was plentiful and the neighborhood appeared to be safe. And the parking lot well lit. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. They also had microwave meals on site for purchase. You could purchase your meal, microwave it and eat in your room and not have to leave your pet.

The staff is very friendly, engaging and helpful. We have stayed at this LaQuinta location several times in the past and have been very pleased. The downgrade in is this survey is due to the cleanliness of the room. It appeared there had been a very poor attempt to clean the room from the prior quest or it hadn't been cleaned at all. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet was disgusting, the mattress had what appeared to be urine stains on the edge and there was dog food on the floor.

I stayed here a few weeks ago, evening staff was lovely. Had a great stay, then get a $250 charge for smoking in my room. I never did anything of the sort, I have enough sense to know better. Apparently, they have something they test the rooms with, is what I was told, and the readings showed I smoked. I said I wanted to see proof, and also wanted them to look at cameras because you can see me go outside to smoke. I did it away from the building by my truck. Yet, still no response and no refund. I'd like to also add, rooms in very close proximity were charged for the same reason. I guess if you're beside someone who smokes, you lose out too. This is unfair and a huge charge for something I never did. Which is why they won't contact me because they have no proof. Very crooked. Very wrong. I followed the rules and cameras will show proof of that. Why would I smoke at my truck and then go back inside to smoke in between smokes?!

My family and I checked in November 5 just for one night heading back to VA from Tucson. Location was great. The rooms were clean. Shower worked great. Unfortunately our room keys would not stay activated. No we did not allow them to come into contact with cell phones or key fobs or laptops. Several other people were experiencing the same issue. Due to this issue we had to go back to the desk an extra 3 times. There was an elderly gentleman on our floor that continued to have the same issue. The night clerk behaved as though we were putting him out asking him to re activate the cards. Luckily when we checked out in the am we had a great front desk team. . When I mentioned the key card situation they brought up the night clerks notes to see if he reported it. His name was Zack. What Zack actually said was that I apparently could not work the door. I was lying about my key card not working. He said I was lying about the elderly gentleman on our floor also having the same issue. He put in the notes that I was probably just trying to get a discount. I assure you after driving from Tucson to Tutumcari I had no energy to fake a bad door key lock situation. The am team was great. They gave me an email to send a complaint to because apparently it is needed. Zack is not doing their chain any favors working there.
