La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sunrise Sawgrass Mills - Hotel in Sunrise - 13651 NW 2nd St, USA

The staff is amazing, and the rooms as are always clean. The location is excellent and convenient with Sawgrass Mills only 2 miles away for fantastic shopping and restaurants. Both La Quinta properties now operated by Wyndham need renovation of the hallways and rooms which it can more than afford to invest due to the amazing potential of both properties located directly across from each other. I am surprised Wyndham has not done a better job in supporting this wonderful staff. They all deserve a raise.

Upon arrival there appeared to be some kind of altercation which lead to blood on the floor. This wouldn't have bothered me had it been cleaned properly. An employee used a random napkin to try and wipe it off the floor with her bare hands and proceeded to touch other things around the hotel after without cleaning her hands. This also smeared the blood on the floor and it wasn't cleaned after with any chemicals such as bleach or other cleaning supplies.

The place is fine for what you pay. Room was very clean and smelled heavily of bleach on arrival. Location is good and close to a lot of excellent shopping. It's a little run down and could use a facelift but overall it's pretty decent.

I booked this hotel due to the price and proximity to where I needed to be (Cleveland Clinic and Sawmills Mall). Then I read the reviews and almost cancelled. Glad I didn't. Yes the hotel is older and the furniture and decor reflects this but it's a 3*** hotel and you get what you pay for. Contrary to some of the reviews found here, my room did NOT smell, the carpets were NOT damp and stained, I saw NO cockroaches, the king bed was clean and comfortable and I found NO mold in the bathroom or anywhere else. The room was a decent size and comes with a TV, mini fridge, tea/coffee maker and microwave oven. The FREE breakfast is not amazing but it fills a gap. Cinnamon buns, brownies, toast, cereal, waffles, eggs, apple and orange juice. Tea and coffee are available 24/7 in the lobby. During my three night stay I had reason to interact with four different front desk staff all of whom were polite professional and courteous. Would I stay here again? Absolutely and I intend to in the near future. If you want a 5***** hotel then pay for a 5***** hotel.

Check-in and Check-out were super easy, nice and very friendly staff (thank you, Gladys!), however the entire hotel is extremely worn down. The carpets in the hallways and rooms are littered with stains, the elevator didn't work when we checked in (it did work the next day, though), there was paint chipping down from the ceiling in our room and the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, dirty towels on the tables included. The bed was very clean and super comfy, though, and breakfast was decent.

Not the newest hotel, but it works! Very friendly and efficient team at front desk. Room was quite big, bed comfy, bathroom had a good shower. Had a very decent night's sleep. Hotel offers decent value for who needs to be in this part of South Florida.

Overall, place just needs a bit more spent on modernization and upkeep. Staff SUPER friendly and very much as you would hope hotel staff in the US to be. Check-in and out easy, breakfast ( in comparison to FAR too many other chains ) pretty good. For the price in this area of FL, I WOULD return.

I am editing the 5 star review I left back in April. I would like to start off by saying that I will NEVER EVER stay at a La Quinta hotel EVER AGAIN!! As is customary, I paid the $50 obligatory REFUNDABLE deposit and was assured by the desk clerk at checkout that it would, in fact, be refunded back to my debit card. I gave it about 10 business days, and it didn't get refunded. I reached out to the hotel manager, Tequila, who advised me to dispute the charge with my bank. The bank applied a $50 credit to my account and disputed the charge with the hotel. I woke up to an email from my bank this morning stating that the hotel said that the charge was valid and they would be removing the $50 credit from my account. I am LIVID!! I left the room I stayed in clean and fully intact when I checked out. I work EXTREMELY hard for my money, and I want my $50 refunded!!
