La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Starkville at MSU - Hotel in Starkville - 982 MS-12 East, USA

From the time I spoke with Amy Tuck, the sales manager, about reserving a block of rooms for our Conference attendees, my experience with La Quinta Inn and Suites in Starkville has been superb in all respects! It took me several days and phone calls to research the hotels in the area, and the staff members answered all of my many questions with knowledge and unwavering cheerfulness. I'm so glad that I decided to make La Quinta our Conference hotel. Upon arrival, staff members at the desk seemed to know us by name and treated us like family. The rooms were so comfortable, immaculate, and quiet. The hot breakfast was varied and delicious. I can't praise this hotel enough for all that they did to make our stay perfect in every way!

Went for my daughters graduation so it was literally just to shower and sleep as her graduation was early the next morning. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. At first the room seemed nice as pictured online, however after getting back with $60 worth of fast food (fruit, coffee, etc) stored it in the fridge. Didn’t seem cool, made sure it was turned up all the way thinking maybe they just plugged it in at check in, next morning it still was barely kicking so it was all wasted. When I went to shower, there was a hair on the inside of the shower curtain. The countertops were dusty and the tiles were loose/broken. I didn’t bother reporting anything as the hotel was very busy and we were tired from being on the road all day. I also see rates are lower now so I feel like they upped the prices during graduation.

Easy to get in parking lot. Beautiful room. Air conditioning control on wall. Has shower only in room with king sized bed. No tub. Huge mirror with plenty of room for 2 in the bathroom and bedroom. Nice friendly front desk. Not crazy expensive. Breakfast 6 to 9.

Check-in took forever because although I was the only person there, a new worker was being trained and the manager just couldn't be bothered to even make eye contact with me. Got upstairs with all my bags and the slow elevator and room key didn't work. Elevator stopped on every floor and opened the door whether it was triggered or not. My door was hard to open and grinded against the floor making the most uncomfortable screeching sound imaginable. Then after you open it you had to close it and hear the noise again. My daughter was itching and said she thought it might be bedbugs. I took a cold shower. Around 10:30 housekeeping started beating on the door every 5 min. I said "Occupied!" Every time and then on knock #3 I said "Occupied" with some irritation and she said "What time you checking out???" Loudly and rudely and I literally just did not even reply because I could not believe my ears. Went to check out @ 10:48 and waited for awhile at the desk but nobody came although people were staring at me. So I dropped my keys into the key bin and left. Got down the hall and the front desk called me and said "check out IS at 11" and I told her about my attempt to check out. Not really their fault by the way but the neighbors were making crazy loud noise all night and I couldn't sleep so I guess I'll put that on thin walls. The AC was great. I wouldn't stay here again and that's mostly because of the screeching door and the BAD service.

Positive: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location right next to campus was ideal. Enjoyed the large room and the early breakfast. Negative: No.

Friendly employees, quick and easy check-in, clean rooms, free breakfast, and a centralized location that met our needs. I would stay there again.

Will not stay here again, I was charged $80 for a late check out that I was told was free. The manager is a control freak and entitled he has a terrible attitude. You can’t talk to ppl anyway you want then think you won’t get put in your place. Terrible customer service skills. One of the worst experiences I ever had at a hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The service was ok. Breakfast was ok. The room was spacious and nice and thankfully the a/c worked well.
