La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Opelika Auburn - Hotel in Opelika - 3151 Capps Way, USA

Southern hospitality at its finest! We checked in after midnight and we were greeted with a warm smile. Lisa checked us in quickly and welcomed us like we were family. The room was clean, comfortable and up to date. The room was equipped with a fridge, Google assistant, coffee maker and make-up remover wipes. If you needed additional toiletries or snacks, there was a Tiger robot that would deliver items to your room. A full breakfast bar was included with eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, potatoes, fruit, yogurt etc. Oh and freshly baked cookies after 3pm!!!! Holiday decor and music set the stage for a relaxing and welcoming stop on the way to Birmingham. There were several shopping plazas and restaurants within walking distance or 5 minute drive. This was our first time staying here, and it will be where we plan to stay any time we travel to Birmingham.

This is a nice clean hotel with easy access into Auburn. Beds are comfy and the shower is hot. The best part of our stay was Miss Lisa at the front desk. She had such a positive energy and warm smile! This hotel is a frequent stop on our visits to Auburn.

I had a great experience staying at this location! The room was really comfortable with a very nice bed! The staff here is great as they were very helpful and friendly while I stayed here! The free breakfast is great! Lots of food options around and it’s close to Auburn University! I highly recommend staying if you’re wanting to stay close to Auburn!

We made a reservation months ago for a few rooms here for a game weekend. We had a family emergency a few weeks prior and called to cancel. They explained that they would only give us a refund if they sold out game weekend and we never heard back from them at all. Finally reached the manager and she explained that they only had one room left and so therefore they were not refunding anything. That made no sense since we had two rooms reserved. We should have at least gotten 50% of our money back. They refunded nothing. We had a major family emergency and they had zero understanding or compassion. Will never stay here again.

Definitely the best La Quinta I've been to, by far. Very new and modern, very clean and spacious with a helpful and polite staff. They also have a 24hr bar and Telsa chargers for people who have them, and even a little robot that brings you towels or drinks, etc. Right outside is Freddy's, a ice cream and burger shop, and a little further over is a movie theater. It all made for a great experience here. Almost made me forgot I was even in Alabama. Jk.

My FIL had a major stroke so my husband had to drop everything and go to him while he was in the hospital. He stayed in this La Quinta for multiple days. The staff was incredibly kind. He loved the rooms and cleanliness of the hotel. It was a 10/10 experience!

On September 16th I called this hotel to make a reservation for the nights of the 6th and 7th of October. I spoke to a gentleman at the front desk and explained that I was in the United States Navy and that I was looking into the government rates for the nights stated above. During this conversation this gentleman told me that my rate for those two nights would be 98 dollars a night and the total came to two hundred and some odd change dollars. I agreed to that and awaited a confirmation email which I never obtained. Due to the fact I never received a confirmation email on the way do to Alabama from Virginia I called around looking to see which hotel I had made a reservation with, finally figuring out it was this property. Upon arrival to the property I went to the front desk to check in and was informed the rate was not 98 dollars a night and it was close to 400 dollars a night. I tried to see if there was any possible way to change it and the woman at the front desk told me there was not but I could speak to the manager in the morning. So I asked if she could hold the reservation for a little longer just to see if I could find a cheaper place to stay, at this point is when I was informed that it wouldn’t matter because I would still be charged for the reservation due to not canceling on time. (Well had I known the price I would have cancelled a long time ago.) after I found out I would be charged that either I decided to stay and just speak to the manager in the morning. When I woke up I went down stairs to speak to the manager and the woman at the front desk would not let me speak to the manger and said there was nothing they could do and tried to reduce my rate a little bit thinking all would be okay. I let this go cause I did not want it to ruin my weekend due to the fact I was only there to support my best friend and his reenlistment into the United States Navy. After I left the following day I called corporate with my complaint and they referred me back to the property where I have yet again been told there is nothing they can do. I believe this to be unforgiving and deceitful. I think this business has not only taken advantage of a United States service member but also brought shame to their hotel.

As a very frequent traveler staying in 2-3 hotels per week I can unequivocally say that this is the nicest LaQuinta I have ever stayed at. Spotless building inside and out and the amenities are unmatched. Beautiful patio area, great pool, EV charging, very cool robotic room service that will bring your items directly to you, and expert customer service. I unfortunately had to check out before breakfast was served but I can only assume it would have lived up to the high standard this hotel seems to have set. Some LaQuintas can be a hit or a miss so huge props to the staff and management here for making this one a definite hit. Also, this hotel was about $40 cheaper than the adjacent holiday inn/ home2suites and arguably just as nice if not better. Save your money and stay here.
