The hotel common areas and the rooms are nice. The room was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. However, we checked in after a long day of hiking and were not told that the hotel did not have any hot water. After the first cold shower, I called the front desk and they said “Sorry, no hot water until early tomorrow morning.” At this point we were unpacked and exhausted so the rest of us took quick cold showers thinking we’d get a hot one after our morning workouts. The next morning at 10:30 AM, there was still NO hot water. I spoke to the lady at the front desk and all she had to say was “Stuff happens.” She offered no resolution, no discount and no help at all. I told her that I felt we should have been told before paying for a room that did not have hot water. I am extremely disappointed in the way the hotel handled this situation. They had plenty of time to inform me and offer to cancel and refund the room so I could find alternative lodging but they chose not to do so, which tells me they do not care about their customers. I will not recommend La Quinta and I won’t be staying with them in the future because of their lack of concern. My other issue is that after paying for the room in full, they take a $100 deposit that still hasn’t fallen off my credit card even though I was told it had been refunded. So, if you stay here and have any issue, do not expect a resolution or compassion from them.
NO HOT WATER; STAY ELSEWHERE TO GO TO YOSEMITE (RECOMMENDATION BELOW)! During my stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Modesto Salida on June 25th, 2024, I checked in at 11 p.m. Only AFTER I was charged the full hotel fee and signed all appropriate paperwork, I was told that there was no hot water. Even worse, I called the hotel to tell them my check-in time earlier in the evening, when they were well aware of the issue and could have informed me in time to book another hotel. However, this information was mysteriously omitted. At check in, I was told the hot water would be restored by the morning. At this point, it was too late in the evening to find another hotel, and I had already been charged for my stay. Despite being covered from head to toe in sand from a day at the beach, I decided to suck it up and shower in the morning. However, the hot water was NOT restored in the morning. It is unacceptable for a mid-range chain hotel to lack hot (or even lukewarm) water. I reported the unresolved issue to the hotel staff upon checkout and was offered an extremely limited refund. I continued to seek a greater refund for this terrible experience, which significantly impacted my stay, to be met with the following response: “Regarding your recent stay, unfortunately, we are unable to offer to you an additional refund. -Jan Zemola, AGM” If you are looking to stay somewhere close to Yosemite, which was the purpose of my stay, El Capitan Hotel in Merced is AMAZING, affordable, and closer!
Customer service was okay, not too much to complain or compliment about, except could’ve communicated that there wasn’t water for a few hours. Rooms were decent enough, except there was hairs on the towels, and random parts of the room, my biggest issue was when I came back into the room the toilet water was running and we couldn’t flush for a while.
Positive: The room (King Suite) was so spacious! The breakfast and the seating for breakfast were superb! (We found it a great place to congregate with our 19 family members during a lunch time as well.) Negative: The pool was very cold...and it had snails living around the inside edge. The water should warm up as the summer arrives...but probably a good idea to address the snails before then.
Stayed here while attending a wedding. Great property. Super breakfast. Only drawback was the pool wasn't heated, so grandkids couldn't swim first week of May. (Outside temperature was hot, pool was cold.) We enjoyed going to the Blue Diamond Almond factory store across the street. Easy access the 99 freeway was helpful.
Pleasant stay, breakfast was great!!! Stayed for softball tournament. It is pet friendly so kind of a smell but over all clean, bottom floor is guest with pets . Id stay again if needed .
The staff were good and the breakfast was good. The hotel needs some upgrades especially the dirty carpets in the hallways.|Otherwise the hotel was good. The support cleaning staff were fabulous. When we couldn’t get our keys to work in the door they helped was using the master key. After that the key worked.
Parking lot well lit. Hotel clean and bright. The room is also clean, bright, and well laid out. Front desk friendly and helpful 👌 We'll come back. Keep up the good work 👏
