La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miramar Beach-Destin - Hotel in Miramar Beach - 12839 US-98, USA

I recently stayed at the LaQuinta Inn in Miramar Beach, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The rooms are incredibly family-friendly, complete with bunk beds included in the pricing—though I didn't need them since I was traveling solo. I imagine families with children would find that especially useful. One great feature is the availability of snacks, drinks, and other items for purchase, which is convenient for those traveling with kids or anyone craving a late-night snack. The only downside is that the prices for those items were a bit on the expensive side. The staff was excellent—very helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns I had. I appreciated their quick attention, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job, which is rare these days. My room, including the shower, was spotless upon arrival. The location is another big plus, being less than 10 minutes from the beach, Walmart, and the outlets. Big Kahuna's water park is only about 15 minutes away, even with traffic. The property also felt very secure, with cameras positioned throughout. I did experience a couple of minor issues. The mattress on my king-sized bed in room 225 wasn’t very comfortable—one side was too firm, while the other side had me sinking in uncomfortably. The faucet in the bathroom was also loose, requiring both hands to operate. Aside from these, everything else met or exceeded expectations for a hotel at this price point in the area. All in all, a solid stay, and I would recommend it, especially for families!

It's an ok hotel. I wouldn't pay more than $125 a night for it. We got the double bed suite which has a bunk bed and 2 queen beds. Please provide blankets for the bunk beds. I had to carry the heavy blankets form the front desk to the 3rd floor. Also that room layout could use more seating maybe an arm chair or small sofa. The showers need better water pressure. It takes forever to take a shower. The hotel is a 2 block drive to the beach. Their pool is actually quite nice. The breakfast is repetitive. Not the best but it's 3 stars. They definitely need 3 new waffle machines. One is out of service, and 2 ruin the waffles. The last one works just fine. Get rid of your out of service yogurt machine. It is not needed and replace it with a oatmeal machine. The hotel could use updated floors in the elevators. And get rid of the "Bar" area and add more seating and use it as a business center and stop using it as a storage space. It looks tacky. All staff is very friendly if approached. The front desk staff is always on their phones and sitting down. I guess that the new work expectations now a days. The business area is in a hallway and has no seating. Completely useless and uninviting. Could be relocated. Ice maker on the 3rd floor is not working and a washing machine on that floor is also out of service.

We stayed here from July 7 to July 12, 2024. We liked everything. Some people write about the flooring in the elevator, but it didn't upset us. We came to relax on the beach, not in the elevator)) We sometimes used the hotel pool. Our room was clean. The room was cleaned every day, which is too often for us, so sometimes we refused cleaning.

I wish I was able to give this hotel 0 star rating. This hotel has bed bugs!!!! The smoke detector also needed the batteries replaced. Never have I experienced this until I stayed here. I was bit all over my body. It made my entire vacation miserable. We notified the manager and he moved us to another room. He said they can't have the pest control company there until Friday! It was Tuesday when we reported it. We had to go to a laundry mat and spend $50 to wash all of our clothes and spray down our luggage so we didn't take them to the room we were moved to. We got into the new room and checked the beds. The sheets were stained and gross. I asked for them to be changed. The room was dusty and there were crumbs in the corners of the beds. The shower curtains also had stains on them. On top of all of this they charged my card twice amounting in $2300! The manager said it was a MINOR error and the hold would be released at checkout. So that's $1000 we were unable to use during our vacation. I had to go to urgent care to get medication to help with the bites as I was extremely uncomfortable (more unforeseen expenses i had to pay)+. The doctor confirmed it was bedbug bites and provided medication to help and documentation. We checked out 8/1 and I called the hotel 8/6 to get documentation from them about pest control since they were supposed to go 8/2. The manager said they were unable to make it out and supposed to now be there 8/7! By now the bedbugs have probably moved to nearby rooms! They did not take this seriously at all! The manager also refused to provide me a full refund. He said, it's not my fault you decided to stay, I gave you a partial refund and points!--- Who cares about the points! I had to suffer through my vacation so my 8 year old, 5 year old, 7 month old and husband could still enjoy their time in Florida. We were so excited about this vacation and planned it for a year! It was all ruined after the first night. Let me also add the breakfast is absolutely horrible! The worst experience I have ever had. It's really disappointing.

We needed a place to stay for one night before we got into our vacation rental for the week. We've stayed in La Quinta's in the past and have always had a good experience. However, this location, even though it's fairly new, is in terrible condition. This is the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The carpet is stained throughout the building, our room was so dirty that I personally got cleaning supplies and wiped down the floors and other hard surfaces. They had broken equipment sitting in the stairwells, which we had to use because one of the elevators was broken. The vinyl floor planks in the elevators are literally peeling up. Towels laid on the floor around the ice machine because it was leaking water. Everywhere you looked either needed cleaned or repaired. The free breakfast was okay but also a mess. With it's proximity to the beach this is pretty much an "extended stay" hotel. The front desk staff was nice but very young and unprofessional. We paid $230 for one night and I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me.

Hotel room was nice and clean, and decently new/upgraded. They allowed dogs and we were able to travel with our German Shepard. However, my only concern is the staff/services weren’t great. We needed extra towels and they couldn’t have housekeeping deliver them. Everytime we had to go down to the front desk to get the towels and be in line waiting along with all other guests. We were told housekeeping was every other day. We stayed from Monday-Friday and I called on the day housekeeping was supposed to pass by to confirm they’ll be coming, they told me they would so I took our pet with us that day so they could come in the room to change our sheets, towels and vaccum. Only to return at 5pm to no housekeeping. When I called to ask what happened they said they didn’t know. So after 5 days of being there, not once did housekeeping pass by. The free breakfast don’t bother with it. Very limited options and if you arrive closer to 9am there’s a huge line with almost nothing left. Again, the hotel facilities and room were nice if you just want a place to rest after a long day at the beach. Location is very central. But don’t expect a lot more than that.

Im totally lost by these comments! We stayed here and I was pleasantly surprised. I mean I remember la Quinta being like a budget hotel/motel back in the day but the bunk beds for the kids in the rooms sold me. I was overally impressed! Specifically with the cleanliness and hospitality of the staff. I mean they were always cleaning or vacuuming! The room was wonderful. We got the one with the king bed and double bunk bed. Loved that the kids had a TV on their side of the bunk bed and we had on our own as well. Breakfast was okay. Coffee was great. About a 10-15 walk to the beach (Miramar). Also crystal beach and Henderson Beach are less than 10 min in the car. Miramar was a lot calmer than Henderson Beach park. You are on the main road so plenty of restaurants, fast food, shops, etc. I loved our stay. Would stay again for sure!

Heed my warning.. Do not stay here! Customer service is terrible, place is filthy and stinks awful like mold and ammonia. Booked this hotel as the pictures on their website looked nice so my family and I drove several hours down. Came to check in, went to the room and immediately went back down to ask for a different room as the smell and dirty ness was overwhelming. The second room was just as bad if not worse than the first one. Spoke with the manager and explained to him everything and he told me “this isn’t my problem, you booked the room not me.” we left, slept in our vehicle and found a different hotel the next day. Manger refuses to give refund and will ignore any and all messages/calls. Hotel is in a good location and looks nice from the outside but I’m telling you, don’t waste your money here.
