La Quinta by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Pompano Beach - Hotel in Fort Lauderdale - 5727 N Federal Hwy, USA

I stayed here on a solo trip to attend a film festival and fish. It's budget friendly and the whole place is just fine aesthetics / cleanliness wise. However my room smelled like it had some funky people in it for way to long. I tried to air it out but they could use some ozone machines in there. |With that being said the breakfast was great and the ladies that run it are super nice. I had the whole pool to myself.

The location looked decent but there’s a lot of smoking around the facility so be prepared to be hit with the smell of cigarettes and marijuana. Big roaches crawling outside of the facility. Terrible scent of garbage in their ice areas. I also booked a king size non smoking room and only to get there and be told I had to get a double queen for my husband and I. I was told they did not have a lot of availability. I agreed with the change. I had also rented a second room and had requested to be near that room because we had some kids in there. I was told no, I will get what they can find. They put me in a different building from the other room where I had to drive around to get to the other room. When I opened the door to my room it smelled like straight cigarettes. I immediately shut the door and headed to the front desk. When I told them I could not sleep in the room because of the smell as I am allergic to cigarettes. They advised that they would provide me a refund. This is close to 9pm at night and it’s the weekend where rates are up. There was a handicap room available at the time of my check. I asked to be placed in that room. They refused and lied and told me it was sold. I have a handicapped sign. Mind you I stood in front of the office for close to an hour before heading to my room and bo one ever walked in. After sharing my dissatisfaction from the time I entered the lobby finally a young gentlemen finally agreed to put me a different double queen room. And guess where it was? 3 doors down from the kids room. So the entire time the had the room available but put me through an hour of a goose chase. If I didn’t stand my ground I would’ve been out that night without a place to sleep with the kids and a baby that night. I will never stay or refer this facility. I had booked the hotel through a booking website and I believe that it was a cheaper rate than they would normally provide for a stay and so they willing to let us leave for more money.

In addition to the fact that my room had so many bugs that they had to move me to another room, I wanted to mention that the staff at La Quinta by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Pompano put a hold of $75 on my account to cover any "incidental charges." This was never mentioned when I went in person to make my reservation. It was only after arriving the next day that I was informed of this $75 hold on my account. I had stayed at this same location two weeks before this and this was not done.|||When I checked out after staying for a week, the person at the desk reversed the $75 hold on my account, but she said that it could take 3 - 5 business days for the money to be back in my account! If I had an extra $75 in my account, this wouldn't be a problem, but let's face it, if I had an extra $75, I would have stayed in a much nicer hotel!|||I told the lady at the desk that this wasn't done when I stayed at the hotel before and she said that there is a new owner and that this policy has been in place, but staff wasn't enforcing it and some of those staff had been terminated.|||After two days of waiting for my money to be put back in my account, I went to my bank and they said that this was a matter for the hotel and it's bank.|||It's now been four days and I still am waiting on my $75. Clearly, someone is making money off of holding onto my money and it may be the hotel, their bank or both.||I know that if I go back to the hotel, they are going to try to tell me that its my bank's fault.|||I am not sure what I'm going to do next to get my money, but I at least wanted to let people know about this policy of the hotel's before you make your hotel reservation and get this done to you.

The La Quinta in Fort Lauderdale is a great hotel. Centrally located. The staff “Crystal“ has been fabulous. They were always very aware of everything that was going on. They helped in every situation. The hotel is located near Walmart, which is probably 20 minute walk from there. There’s also a lot of other stores. I highly recommend them. Their morning breakfast is excellent.

I went to the La Quinta by Wyndham hotel last April. I really liked it. The staff was fantastic. Especially Brianna. When I had a question or concern she dropped everything and helped me out. Very nice, very dedicated with no attitude. In fact I just booked it again for this April 2025. I have been going to hotels a long time and really appreciate the great service from her and all the staff. The breakfast was great too. 5 stars for Brianna and the hotel. Sean Rosen

Generally I LOVE Wyndham properties. Unfortunately, this one does disappoint a bit. In years past it was excellent but the age is showing. Rooms are dated and it’s a bit noisy. On the positive side, it’s a good value for the location and overall it’s clean. They are about to do a remodel and freshen up the property. Once this is completed I’m sure I could give a better rating. The location is convenient for activities in Northern Fort Lauderdale or Pompano Beach area. The rooms are large and the all important air conditioning works well. Even though it’s a bit dated, most rooms are well equipped and parking is at your door for most 1st floor guests. They do have handicap parking and accessible rooms on the 1st floor. There is a nice pool area that does have a tropical feel. I do recommend this location HOWEVER, it is not a high end property but for the price and location it is still a good value. Also note that they take a deposit of $75 at check in above the room rate and it can take SEVERAL days before it is returned to your credit card. Just be aware of the delay in advance.

Positive: Location Negative: Can't speak on hotel in its entirety but the room and parking. The room have many issues. Everything is old. Tub paints flaking, toilet has 2 inches of caulking at the base. Bed smells. There's mold embedded in a round frosted glass. Carpet is funky. Etc

Dirty room. Bathroom is filthy. Bags. They don’t clean at all. No service. How’s this motel passing health inspection. You can smell weed everywhere. From outside looks like decent motel. Once you walk into room, smells like mold.
