La Playa Hotel - Hotel in Carmel-By-The-Sea - Camino Real &, 8th Ave, USA

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The design is gorgeous and it's so clean and peaceful. There are so many places to just sit and enjoy the beauty of Carmel. ||||The staff is outstanding and always there to make your stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was amazing and the staff at breakfast was so attentive and thoughful. The pool was so peaceful and such a gorgeous setting. I could go on forever. ||||This was an anniversary trip we will remember forever. Thank you to the staff of this beautiful hotel!

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel, and even though we were only passing through for a day, it left a lasting impression. My husband joked that we were "moving into the hotel," and I can see why. From the thoughtful check-in cocktails to the beautifully detailed and relaxing shared spaces, everything was perfect. While we didn't get a chance to visit, the cocktail bar in our room was a nice touch. The well-kept grounds, adorned with flowers that filled the air with a lovely scent, added to the charm. My favorite part of the stay? A fabulous champagne breakfast that was simply delightful. I wish we could have stayed longer!

My wife and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and stayed for two WONDERFUL nights at the La Playa Hotel! When we travel, we love to stay at memorable places, and this was no exception. The hotel was located walking distance to downtown Carmel by the Sea. The hotel had SO much character! And the service was OUTSTANDING! Oh, don't get me started on the breakfast! It was one of, if not the best, breakfast we've experienced at a hotel. We had drinks at the bar, and loved it (the bar and the drinks)! They also make fresh (and delicious!), chocolate chip cookies every night and put them out at the front desk. The hotel was also perfectly situated to get massages downtown, and jet over to Pebble Beach. This would be a great spot for a wedding (the hotel has a beautiful garden) or any other event. We absolutely recommend staying at this hotel.

The amenities at this hotel are noncomparable- once the of the nicest hotels we have experienced. Brunch was top notch, pool was beautiful, staff was super friendly and always wanted to help. Love how it was close to the beach and not downtown, could hear the waves at night with our window open. Cannot say enough about this place- we will be back!

We chose La Playa for a special birthday with family. It met all of our expectations. It is a wonderful place to be, even if you never leave the grounds. It is old Mission elegant, gorgeous grounds, lively vibe, terrific food and service. I did not want to leave and hope to be back.

We loved our stay at La Playa, everyone was amazing. The grounds are beautiful and something out of a garden book, the staff was top notch and completely took care of any needs we had. Alan helped us a few times and was the most amazing person here, assisting us with reservations and anything we needed, greeting us with a smile. In fact, everyone there greeted us with a smile and said hi. Jorge was our server at the amazing free breakfast and always took care of anything we needed to eat or drink. He always made sure we had a full mimosa and hot coffee. Miguel ran the waffle and omelette counter very efficiently, always with a smile. I can’t say enough about the most relaxing and beautiful hotel in Carmel. The bar reminds me of a Gatsby-era dark and intimate setting with very tasty libations. They even have a dime time where, at the bartender's discretion for 10 minutes, you can get a drink for a dime. Let’s talk about the walkabouts; great location as it's close to the beach yet near all the shops. There’s also a swimming pool for those who want to swim. We were lucky enough to catch a beautiful wedding at the site. Very well done, La Playa. Can’t wait to see you guys soon! Oh, and thanks to Chi for loading our luggage!

We absolutely loved our stay at La Playa. The service was exceptional before we even arrived when we had to change our plans at the last minute. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was phenomenal and makes the resort fee so minimal in hindsight. The staff working the breakfast were exceptional (especially the gentleman working the omelette & waffle bar). We were in a beautiful ocean view room however it was on the smaller side which was to be expected for an older location. Overall - fantastic stay here. We will definitely be back!

This is a very special place! Not only are the rooms and grounds gorgeous but the staff is extremely courteous and pleasant. In-house breakfast is delicious. One evening Michael gave us a great dinner recommendation and that restaurant was a definite highlight. Another plus are the ocean views and proximity to the beach. Highly recommend!
