La Petite Rouge Motel - Motel in San Diego - 6840 El Cajon Blvd, USA

Lots of stores and restaurants nearby. Good walking area, close to bus stops. The couple who run the hotel are very nice and they always look out for me. If you're honest with them and actually do what you say you're going to do and don't bring a bunch of nonsense then they'll respect your privacy and treat you good. I can't complain.

HORRIBLE room... and a scam; booked online, arrive and they claim they cannot access online so you have to cancel and pay them I'm full (there's a cancelation fee for same day) The room had a huge gap under the door to outside, only half of a towel rack, red light in the bathroom, a folding chair instead of real furniture.... I could go on I left, got a refund and reported them to expedia

HORRIBLE!!! Booked via Expedia but when I arrived they claimed they couldn't access online reservations and I had to pay then directly- cancel Expedia (fee for being same-day)|The room was dirty, smelled like smoke, red light in bathroom and cookers in next room over, burn mark on ceiling, broken towel rack, missing drawer, huge gap in door.|HORRIBLE... I left and got a room elsewhere

It was kind of clean everything was old inside the place there is no phone or trash can in the room I was at. There were roaches scurrying around when I turn the bathroom light on. Kind of gross but I can deal with the roaches just not bed bugs and so far in this room there were none

I juat stayed here for 2 nights and i was very irritated with the owner/receptionist. When i arrived i asked to see the room before deciding to stay and all he said was "room is clean and good okay" and he repeated this like 3 times. Finally he let me look at it as i insisted. It looked okay. It was spacious with one big bed. We decided to rent it and while there we found a cockroach or two, the shower curtain was very moldy and disgusting from the bottom. The AC did not work well. I was sweating while just laying there. There were only 2 very small packets of shampoo. So small i couldn't cover all of my hair with it and one small bar of soap for both the shower and the sink. Unbelievable. This place was gross and it cost only a little less than a nicer hotel would. Once we left the room and were waiting at the desk. We rung the bell a few times and no one would come. Finally he came through the other side of the door thinking he was going to help us but nope he took his sweet ass time and headed back out and he saw us standing there. Finally came back and returned my deposit. He was an awful person. Mean, grumpy, unwelcoming etc. Never going back!

Come on man this place used to be nice now its over run by obnoxious guests and it's like another ghetto neighborhood. People all loud, hanging out at other people's room off the railing, lord only knows what else goes on there.Better off to STAY HOME! No luxury at all not even a person to pick up the towels.

As working in retail I'm a very nice, understanding person. I remained calm and spoke to the receptionist nicely . My room smelled like cigarettes , there was hair on the pillows and bedsheets, even weird stains as well. I didn't feel safe either. My boyfriend and i ended up telling the receptionist we didn't want to stay no longer and he went crazy and went off on me. He didn't even apologize for anything. I'm confused why he went off on me when he's the one who had nasty rooms. My boyfriend was so mad at how he treated us he didn't even bother ask for our deposit back. Don't bother even going, he's so rude and doesn't deserve a damn penny.

If I have an option to rate this place less than 1 star, I would have!! Where do I begin:||1. Checked in late as flight arrived late. Motel owner almost gave the room out despite multiple calls from me alerting him of our delayed flight arrival... on hindsight, I should have told him to go ahead. When I called to reserve a room, he told me it would be $80 flat/night but on arrival, the amount changed to $90! though we finally settled for $85... I still gave him $90 though the next day; $5 dollar as a thank you tip because we made it safe through the night.||2. Location of Motel is dodgy at best, the room we stayed-in was horrible, dirty, old and heavy smoke and other smelly odor! I have never seen a motel room in my life that is in such a state of disrepair; i was expecting to see rats! I can not even begin to list all that we saw in the room. There are better motel rooms in the middle of a third world jungle somewhere!! very unkept room... The owners are elderly and live onsite. Old mattresses and room furniture were thrown around in a corner close to our ground floor room.||3. The Wife and I could not sleep all night; we've never felt so unsecured/unsafe in a Motel! To top it all, a middle aged guy came banging on our door at 2am at night wanting to come in... he looked like a druggie or homeless or drug seller!||4. The motel may have other better rooms than the one we stayed in but we will never smell this motel again.. even if it is for free!
