Went for lunch and it was great! Service was nice, and the restaurant is very pretty. It’s a charming place with good food. I recommend their filo dishes.
Berkeley, CA. The La Mediteranee family of restaurants has won Zagat and other awards but the cook at this location was heavy handed with the salt in the lentil soup and the tabouleh on 10/7/23, afternoon. Also the falafel was dry. Everything else tasted great! The flavors in the hummus, tabouleh, dolma, cucumber yogurt soup, and salad were complex and delicious, made with fresh herbs, garlic and rich olive oil. But there was meat in my dolma and I’d ordered the Vegetarian Plate. I’m not vegetarian but what if I had been. The staff probably need a bit more training in attention to detail. It was a fun place to dine and be a part of the Berkeley hubbub. We sat outside to enjoy the mellow weather and people watch. Hallie and the person who seated us were sweet and attentive to our needs. Great service!
My wife and I came here with friends who kept telling us how great it is. It was relatively busy and the service was quite good but the food was not. Maybe I’m just picky but I struggled to find things on the menu and what we ended up ordering was so forgettable that I cannot recall anything we ate that night. The restaurant is fairly clean and certainly fits the area but I sat there all dinner wishing we had gone to the spot around the corner instead. Our friends will definitely be back. I won’t.
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE . SHARABLE DISHES . FRIENDLY SERVICE . AMAZING MENU WITH ALL THE FAVORITES. GREAT OUTDOOR SEATING
Attentive and friendly staff. High quality service and food. Lamb meatballs are excellent. Unique decoration. Outdoor seating available. Not very spacious but very cozy. Infant and elderly (stroller and wheelchair) friendly
I'm so glad this restaurant has survived through the pandemic - they are one of my absolute favorite spots for Mediterranean food! Their hummus, spinach & feta fillo and Chicken Pomegranate entree are all superb and delectable.
So the food isn’t exactly what it used to be and the portion sizes have gone slightly down, but it’s still an overall good restaurant. The decor and ambiance make it an enjoyable experience. The food is flavorful and the service is pretty good. This week I had the middle eastern plate (which is my go to) and had zero complaints. One downside is that the Moroccan mint tea is/was way too sweet, which was kind of a disappointment, but nothing to deter me from ever returning.
Excellent delicious pomegranate chicken drumsticks that wasn’t too sour or sweet but just right. The other chicken dough was quite good too. Potato salad and green salad both were excellent sides. The service was fast.
