La Jolla Cove Hotel & Suites - Hotel in La Jolla - 1155 Coast Blvd, USA

We fell in love with this hotel. Our room was amazing!! Just make sure when booking that you reserve the new side. The rooms on other side are older. We had a front balcony room and we could watch everything! We could see the Sea Lions from our corner balcony, see the concert in the park and watch an amazing sunset!! |Their is a cute coffee shop at hotel and parking was easy underneath the hotel. |They were busy on the weekend, but the front desk took time with everyone. Michael checked us in and was very calm on the phone to a guest that had called the hotel and was asking the same questions. He never lost his cool. |Blais and Treasure were also very kind to us. |I cannot wait to return and stay in this same room!! It is worth the extra money to get a front corner balcony on the new side!!

Location, location, location. The Pines and the Shores rooms are renovated. The other rooms are not. If you stay in the Terrace, you'll need to park in a lot accessed via Prospect street so don't unload when you check in. Rooms were clean and grounds were nice. The rooftop patio was booked for weddings (lasting until 10pm) every night we were there so we didn't have access to that space. Good value because of the location.

This is the second time I stayed at La Jolla Cove and there are many good things to say about it. First and foremost, it is perfectly located for a gorgeous sunset. But it is also very walkable and you can see the seals and sea lions from your balcony. ||With this said, this hotel is ripe for a major upgrade. The pines side is beautiful. Its clean and modern. However the other side takes away from its beauty. I can't imagine that this would be easy to schedule but it needs to be done. In addition, they should discard any linens they wouldn't put in their own home. The duvet cover in our room was so ratted that I had to flip it to the other side so not to get tangled into the opening. ||Finally, we arrived in San Diego on a Thursday from the east coast and we checked out that Saturday. Unbeknownst to us the hotel had weddings booked on both nights which were held on the outside terrace right next to our rooms that lasted until 10pm. I would never want to take away from anyone's special day and it is a beautiful venue to hold a wedding, however, the jetlag was unforgiving, and we could not sleep with the music going at full force. Although it was 10pm PST it was 1am EST and we had been traveling since 5am and I was forced to sleep with my noise canceling headphones in my ears. Now the hotel sent us text and emails regarding our upcoming reservations and check out times, couldn't they send one to say "just thought you should know....". Just my opinion.

We didn’t have high expectations of the hotel after reading reviews, however we found the hotel to be great with the staff friendly and welcoming. ||We were visiting from the Uk and had 3 nights in La Jolla. We will be coming back and staying at this hotel.||We had connected rooms so our children had their own space and the rooms had a fantastic balcony looking out onto the ocean.||The location is amazing and we felt so lucky to stay here. We were in the renovated side of the hotel. I’d imagine that any negative reviews are from people staying at the non-renovated side.||Only slight negatives are that the hotel gets quite noisy with weddings on an evening (there was one on each of the 3 nights we were there), although it was lovely to see the wedding party and the fun they were having. It didn’t stop us sleeping and was finished by 10pm.||Would definitely return and ask for the same rooms (206/207).

We just stayed here this past weekend, and it was solid. We accidentally booked the wrong dates, but they helped us and saved the day. The room was a bit dated, but they do have a remodeled side that is very nice. If you are booking ahead, ask them for those rooms. Everything was very clean though and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The best park of this hotel by far is the location. So nice. It is right next to everything. It's a 5 min walk to see the sea lions, to snorkel, to swim, and to eat any type of food you want. They also have a Coffee shop of their own, which is nice, and also a Starbucks next door. Definitely would recommend.

Very nice place and the manager was awesome guy. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We did not have a room with an ocean view, but we requested one and for a small upgrade fee we were able to get one. Love this place. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be back!

Pros: Outstanding rooms, very clean, beds are comfy and the views are out of this world. We stayed in The Pines with an oceanfront view. Def worth the extra money. The cafe downstairs is nice as well! 5 stars def deserved. Cons: Wish this place had a restaurant or cocktail lounge at their rooftop. The showers in The Pines only have a ceiling rain shower with no pressure so it takes forever to bathe and rinse off especially if you’re doing your hair. They really should install an extra hose! The pool lounge chairs need an upgrade and the towels are very small 🫠

I wish I could give La Jolla Cove Suites less than one star. For rooms starting at over $1k per night, you'd expect that they'd clean the room (bridal suite) prior to guest check in. Unfortunately, we got married at the Wedgewood La Jolla cove rooftop, so we were a captive audience. They knew we were getting married that weekend, and they didn't go out of their way to accommodate check in (or even clean the room, evidently), let alone make us feel special in any way. They even went out of their way to charge us for MULTIPLE vehicles that were not ours (note: parking is NOT included with your stay), which was inaccurate. It just shows how they don't pay attention to detail. My air conditioning didn't work at all in the main bedroom where I was getting ready: it took multiple calls and me going to the front desk to get someone up to the room to fix it day of. Our other room had a broken toilet that took them over a day to fix, so I had the guys coming to use my toilet all day while I was getting ready. As pictured, when I checked in, I first noticed the red stains on the carpet. The floor was also gritty, indicating further that the room had not been cleaned or vacuumed after the last guest. I then noticed cup stains, or rings on the table and dirt on the nightstand, which confirmed that they had not cleaned the room prior to my check-in, and after the last guest. Perhaps this would've been an easy fix for any other time or occasion, but because it was my wedding weekend, and we spent so much money at this hotel, I would have expected any quality of service. This was just not the case and it was beyond disappointing.
