Fun blast from the past! Cost is $8 each, 5 and under are free. That price is for 2 movies.
They have a snack shack, prices varied from $5+ for candy to $5-$10 for popcorn, they also had sodas starting at $5.
There are restrooms on site as well.
You use your car radio for audio, 103.7 FM. My car is newer, so it kept shutting off to try and save my battery, so I ended up just letting it run.
So many great times and wonderful family memories made here. We've been going to the La Grande Drive Inn for at least 22 yrs now. I brought my kids and a countless number of their friends every summer all thru their childhood, and now I've been lucky enough to take 2 of my grandsons to see movies at the Drive Inn. We've even spent 4th of July there before. Watching fireworks overhead and the family animation Rio 2, in front of us. My grandson was 4 at the time and he thought it was amazing! My other grandson who is 4 now, just loves the "GIANT TV", and thinks they control it with a "GIANT REMOTE." HAHA. I hope that it remains open and operating for many years to come. I couldn't imagine summer nights without some spent at the La Grande Drive Inn! (🚗 🎥 🌙 👪 ❤)
Also in regard to some of the other maybe unfair reviews. 20 years ago we paid $15.00 for a car with 4 people to see 2 movies, sometimes 3 movies (usually the last weekend of the summer) now all these years later it's gone up a whole $6! A car with 4 people is now $21.00 TO SEE 2 MOVIES FOR 4 PEOPLE, so that's about $2.62 PER PERSON PER MOVIE. Under $2 each if it's 3 movies! I don't see how that's not economical?! Or how it could possibly cost $100 unless they are paying for several cars? Yes it's a few bucks more per person after 4 people, $4 .00 I think, but I still don't see how that could cost $100? If this family went to the theater to watch 2 movies it would have to cost $200-$300 then?! Also we have always taken in our own snacks and drinks we've never been checked, talked to, or asked, and have certainly never had it taken away, and we have never hidden it. Last point~their website clearly states that the gates open at 8:30 and the movie starts at dark. Of course there is going to be a line to get in when they first open. Where isn't there a line to get into a movie when the box office first opens?
Awesome just awesome. Brings me back to being a kid again . Now my kid loves it . I totally say if you have never watched a movie in the drive in then what are you doing with your life 😂 lots of butter on the pop corn and was clean . 4 instead of 5 stars is that there is a few stickers /goat heads that you have to watch out for .
Loved it. I haven't been to one since 1995. Will definitely be back.
Such a great, retro place to watch a movie with the family. Thank you for keeping this nostalgic place running after all these years.
I love going to the La Grande Drive In. This is one of the only Drive In's left in Oregon. For many years it's been a place to take your family on a small budget. But over the years a very large majority of the movies aren't children or family friendly. Also they keep raising their prices every year. It's $15.00 for a person and $20.00 for 2 people. After 2 people it's $4.00 a person. For a large family it is no longer economical to go. What used to cost 15.00 plus snacks, is now costing a large family up to 100.00. Your also not allowed to bring in your own drinks and snacks. You are required to buy snacks and drinks at the snack bar. If your caught bringing food in they will take it away.
So fun to still have a functioning drive-in movie! The price has gone up and up over the years and their restrictions on number of people you can stuff in one car kind of takes the fun out of it. But the nostalgia factor is still there.
I am thrilled that La Grande has this theater. It makes for a great activity with the family on summer nights. It would be improved if there was more grass rather than the rocky dirt and some slope to the parking to improve visibility.
We were passing through La Grande. Since not many places were open on Saturday evening, we ended up at "Side A Brewing."
It was a very busy time for them, and despite the wait, I wanted to give them 5 stars for their outstanding customer service, th
Apparently this is one of Eastern Oregon's best kept secrets. We camped there over Labor Day weekend and we are camping there again this weekend. There are 10 RV camp sites and several tent sites, there were at least two campsites open the entire wee
What a neat place! What you expect in a bowling alley, but then just a super cool building and design. My young kids had a lot of fun running around and messing with arcade games while the older kids bowled. Stairs to the lanes, and all the way at th
Genuine Italian restaurant with a large menu and wine at reasonable prices.
Great service. The meatballs were great as was the fish and chips. My wife's mushrooms were excellent but too many to finish.
Great meal.
Great movie saw indiana Jones 5.. spent al.ost $40 with admission $19.75 and #1 combo 2 large drinks and lg popcorn for $16.75..hate the prices though..I guess considering a pretty good deal for 2 people
Really cool hotel. Obviously still undergoing renovations, but my room (209) was very cute and stylish, with a nice view of the mountains. The water running through the pipes and radiator constantly might bother some, but I found it kind of relaxing.
