I would say the experience was below par. The lights throughout the restaurant would dim and flicker like it’s short circuiting. It was hard to hear my group because they were blasting Christmas music. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food and we honestly thought they forgot about us because they started mopping and closing the dining room. When we did receive our food it was lukewarm and wasn’t even that good. I don’t think the price compares to the food we receive.

La Dolce Vita Detroit has been a favorite place where a romantic dinner with amazing food and remarkable service has been the norm with few exceptions. The food and service (thank you, chefs, and especially Jason who went above and beyond!) were awesome, as always... However, part of the romance was the sense of a secluded experience with ambient lighting, warm and welcoming muted colors, tapestries, and a setting that made you feel like you were embarking on a special experience. A $150 dinner with wine and dessert for 2 calls for that. Perhaps I'm outdated in this search for a quaint and peaceful night out. There's no doubt that a freshening may have been warranted, and, perhaps, the redecorating is not yet complete, but I worry that our oasis of comfort has been so dramatically changed with stark white walls, removal of the cozy nooks, etc., that it is sending away years-long repeat customers who will seek out anther place where they can find that experience. Given the a-bit-on-the-rough-end location, this is a big risk for a long-established restaurant to displace loyal customers who want more than great food. I hope I'm wrong. When we were on the way in, another couple standing near the valet station literally warned us so we wouldn't be as shocked as they were. That doesn't seem like a good statement for an establishment's success, and I hope the new owners hear this. We truly want them to succeed. We love La Dolce Vita. We'll be back... maybe?

Jason our server was an absolute doll. Very polite & well-mannered. He's very knowledgeable about the menu. We came for my brunch. My 13-year old son found this place for my Birthday Brunch. Who doesn't love a good brunch. I chose the Peach Mimosa and paired it with the Eggs Sardou Which is perfectly layer with a fresh English muffin, smoked salmon, artichokes, perfectly poached eggs, and topped off with a silky smooth hollandaise sauce. It comes paired with potatoes that will melt in your mouth. My son chose the Italian Style French Toast. The marscapone sauce that is layered in between is perfectly sweetened to heightened the fluffy goodness of the bread. Then topped off with strawberries, bananas, and dashed with powdered sugar. You are given syrup but it is truly not needed. I kept taking a few bites for myself. Such a yummy treat. We definitely be returning to try their dinner menu.

Went a few times and i felt compelled to write a review! I must say their service is beyond exceptional which makes a dinning experience all the more marry! Further the food is more than a glorious explosion to the taste buds. I’ve had multiple pasta dishes that are Al dente and very creamy! I also took a spin on their brunch and their French toast is as great as one would explain a roller coaster ride!!! The cream sandwich between the well toasted French toast is like heaven to the mouth. Also I’d like to add for price and portion size i was very pleased with the dishes. Overall the dinning experience was more than I could hope for. Every time I visited it was joyous. Definitely will be returning

Their brunch is delicious and the venue is perfect for bridal showers (my cousin and step sister had theirs here). It’s Detroit’s diamond in the rough and the new owners have done a great job with the patio and it sounds like more renovations to come. The new ownership is still figuring itself out with communication and inaccurate OpenTable, but hoping things will run more smoothly after the transition. Michelle the bartender is amazing. De’Andre is accommodating while on site and friendly. I’ve also have come here for happy hour and dinner. Pastas are great, but appetizers are just ok. Big portions of the antipasto cheese board. Looking forward to coming back again.

Just wow. I have been coming here for a couple decades. The new owners are really making this something special..Job well done during the remodel. Giving southern Italy vibes. It’s nice to have a change and how clean it is too. The food was great can’t get enough of that risotto. The staff so welcoming and alert. Bravo keep it up!

I stumbled upon this charming spot in Detroit. It's like stepping into a countryside villa, and trust me, you'll want to snag a table on the patio—it's where the magic happens. Now, let's talk food. The kitchen here is something else. Each dish is a canvas, painted with flavors that show some serious kitchen finesse. You can tell they're passionate about what they do. Our server was on point. He walked us through the menu like a pro, sharing all the delicious details and specials. Top-notch service that truly elevates the experience. One little hiccup: the bar. We ordered two classic martinis for $18 each and got an automatic gratuity—bit steep compared to their signature drinks. Weird, right? Something for management to smooth out. But hey, despite that blip, I'm itching to return for dinner. This place has that irresistible charm and culinary dedication that's right up my alley.

Been coming here for years and always have a great experience. Great food, fantastic service, and prime location. The shrimp app is amazing, and the steak is super tender. Restaurant was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Make sure you order dessert!

Dined here on NYE. Everything was good, portion size was small. The lobster pasta was the best dish by far, & the octopus was another favorite.

This was another fun foodie experience, and one that doesn't totally break the bank, but still a little costly. The in-laws and wife were with me on this dining experience, so lots to share on this review. All entrees come with hot fresh sourdough
