La Cocina Jalisciense is located in a small shopping center at a busy intersection, 95th and Kedzie, in Evergreen Park. I've driven by for years and decided to add it to this year's goal of sitting down in the establishment and checking out the menu.
The menu has the typical affairs: tacos, taquitos, tortas, tostada, fajitas, quesadillas, etc. Both the hubby and I set our eyes on the steak taco dinner. I'm glad we made that choice, as I knew if they made a great steak taco, the rest of the food would be good too.
I wasn't disappointed. The steak was perfectly seasoned as well as the rice and refried beans. I've visited some restaurants where the rice is mushy. No, at Jalisciense, the rice was perfectly fluffy and the refried beans had a nice flavor - good for dipping the chips. Speaking of chips, those were fried fresh with a nice tomatillo and spicy salsa.
I'll definitely make a trip again to this restaurant and try out the rest of the menu.
I frequently come here because it's my aunt and uncle's place to come and grab food. They have been going ever since this delicious and amazing restaurant was established. Which can only mean one thing it's simply wonderful so due to them I've become a customer also and I have no complaints at all my belly is always full while my plate ends up rather empty with nothing left behind. I highly recommend that anyone visit the staff is always not just courteous but very welcoming not to mention the owner is very punctual while being engaging Dennis is outstanding not just him but the each person there makes sure you're satisfied and go above and beyond. Just know that regardless if you dine in, take home or have it delivered you'll be like me and my family always satisfied 😊
Make sure you go check them out and get some good food if you don't just know I always will but if you do share a great review and leave some food for me 🩷🩷🩷
Nachos supreme with carne asada were bomb. The agua de horchata was watered down, so I didn't really enjoy it, but the nachos made up for it.
I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of this food! I am a Mexican food fan (don’t play games with my mole’ sauce). When I tell y'all I am sitting here full waiting on a to go box. The only thing I would change is please give me my drink in a glass not a plastic cup. I will be back!!
No impressed at all … no flavor at all the margaritas wasn’t even good lacked alcohol… tasted like a generic strawberry smoothie…. … rice was dry … beans and enchiladas were bland as hell Won’t be going back .. food is not authentic at all … Pepe’s taste better and that’s a fast food spot
I happened to be in the area and thought, why not find a taco joint? Well, let me tell you, I hit the jackpot with this place! My taco dinner was an absolute delight. The tacos? Utterly delicious. And the staff? they were just so nice! You can bet your bottom dollar that when I find myself in this neck of the woods again, I'll be making a beeline straight back here!
I love this place! Food is great and the people are even better. We order from here at least twice a week!
This is a gem freshly made corn chips not like those in some others that buy them or fry them so much they are so hard or just taste horrible. I had a torta de lingua beef tongue you would have thought I asked for extra meat! It was good! It was in the .mid afternoon I went it was slow lucky for me I got quick service! But like many restaurants the service needs much I improvement!! Here is a few photos of what I ate with great joy.

Everything was so tasty. The kids loved the ice cream. I ordered a small funnel cake sundae with butter pecan ice cream. We will definitely be back. I want to try a shake, smoothie and many more lol.
Great little restaurant that had a nice diner like atmosphere. Food was cheap and delicious. We had the ribs (highly recommend) with some nice crispy fries. I'll definitely come back
