Great place on historic route 66! Excellent Mexican food. Welcoming efficient staff. Beautiful art paintings on walls (for sale) as well as Route 66 souvenirs. Nice tamales and quesidillas. See photos. Very reasonable prices...$27 for 2 platter meals.
Wow we liked this restaurant before but now Wow remodel looks great. If you are hungry and near Tucumcari this is a must stop. Friendly staff, super clean, reasonably priced, and great food. Highly recommend
A really pleasant experience, arrived by accident and decided to eat here. Service was friendly and the food was really really great! Portions were huge. Unexpected and a gem of a place, Highly recommend you stop here for a meal if passing through.
We were traveling and chose this based on reviews. It was a Sunday and they had a delicious buffet available which had turkey, ham, fish, brisket, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, fried okra, sweet potatoes, salad or soup, rolls, dessert. The carver served the turkey and plated your choice of foods. A one trip was $15.99. Or you could order from their menu. We highly recommend this restaurant. Our server was great.
If I could give the food 6 stars I would! I got Adrian’s Special and it was phenomenal. Chips and salsa came with drinks and the salsa was spicy and very flavorful. The chips were fresh and delicious. Prices were very fair and portions were very large! Will definitely make a return trip
Stopped here while travelling through town. The service was stellar...the food was amazing...and the prices were phenomenal! There were three of us and we each had something different, and we were all happy with our orders. We also loved the chips and salsa! The food was fresh and hot, and the portions were enough for leftovers. I definitely recommend La Cita!
On a trip with students from Oklahoma to Arizona,we stopped here for lunch and liked it so much we stopped for dinner on the way back the next week. Maybe the best Mexican food I've ever had. The chips came out still warm and the salsa was just the right spice. When the waitress found out we hadn't been there before, she brought out a sample of their red and green sauce to confirm we'd be happy with what we ordered. Both were awesome. I had the stuffed sopapilla, which can be had with chicken or ground beef. I had mine "Christmas" style, with both red and green sauce. The sopapilla covered 2/3 of the plate, it seemed like, and was delicious. All of us were full, so we passed on the dessert sopapillas, but when we returned the next week we tried them. Melting your mouth delicious! And don't expect little stingy squares of dough; these desserts were generous, crescent shaped objects of deliciousness! Aside from its kitschy exterior, which makes it a cute stop on Route 66, the food is well worth a visit.
Love this place! The food is so good!! I always have the chile rellenos and my husband has the cheese enchiladas Christmas style. The red and green sauce is so good we can't choose so we get both! Do yourself a favor and eat here! Damn good food!
