La Carreta - Mexican restaurant in Laplace - 107 Carrollwood Dr, USA

Our cousins brought us here for dinner and what a dream surprise! We had been to to a sad event on this day, so margaritas were in order. We told our family to take us wherever and we were so pleased. They seated us immediately, git our drink order with warm friendly service. We all ordered and our good came out very fast and the portions were super gracious. We actually split the fajitas. The guacamole was delicious all of it made for a wonderful dinner! To top it off, we ordered the flan. Do yourself a favor, get the flan! This restaurant is in a shopping place with plenty of parking for all. They have a beautiful patio that's covered with a calming water fall fountain. The atmosphere is upbeat and festive! The food is quality and very well done. I consider myself a Mexican food snob, I grew up in Southern California with Mexican food being my home cooking and most of the time the average Mexican restaurant is below average or worse. La Carreta is not average but way above the rest! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area you will thank me later once you try it! I'm not sure if the patio is dog friendly because nobody was out there due to the tremendous heat in this area. So if you want to bring your pet you may want to call ahead. What I have learned, always be willing to try a new place no matter what your predetermined idea might be because it may prove you wrong!

We walked in and were immediately taken care of. We were sat in a booth with a low lit atmosphere and pleasant 90s/00s rock music. Everything we ordered was delicious and the server was quick to offer refills on drinks and chips while we waited for our meal. The salsa tasted fresh with a nice kick to it! The fajitas came out sizzling and flavorful. The menu has your typical Mexican American dishes, but with some nice specialty items like ribeye steaks, civiche and raspberry burritos! We will be happy to return again!

Food is good, but service is terrible. We got the wrong plate and got told “I didn’t take your order” instead of trying to fix the problem. Waitress had an attitude since we sat down, she would come “check” on us, but it was more of a walking by asking if everything was good and before we got a chance to even say anything she was already gone. Anyways she was the only person with an attitude everyone else treated us good

I did a take out order while staying at a nearby hotel. Very busy considering it was Cinco de mayo but I still got my order very quickly. Friendly service and the food was great!

The services was very fast and attentive, we place our drink order and it was served very fast we order our food and it came as fast as the drinks. I was amazed at the speed of the service. Food and drink were spot on. I would go back anytime that am in the area

Great service immediately from the door ! Dinning inside and outside on the patio! Food was delicious! Good music playing loud! I really enjoyed it and will be back!

Were in the look out for a mexican restaurant out of lousiana and we found la carreta we stop by to eat here before continuing to our hometown texas the food was great the rice the beans there is no horchata asado or chile verde but theres other great dishes i love the birria consome by itself i try it here sorry but it was toooo salty i understand its ment to be for the tacos but i love it as a soup here are the dishes

I had fun interpreting the menu, my rudimentary Spanish was ill equiped. The sauces were excellent. Food was hot and fresh. The meats were barely flavored. That would be the shredded chicken and the beef. The red sauce was excellent. The cheese in the enchilada was also good. Overall 4...just not quite that Friday cheat you look forward to.
