We went here on a recommendation. It was outstanding. Our server Rachel was wonderful. The honeycomb appetizer is amazing. Everything we ate, we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend L.May.

Absolutely excellent food. Our server Mary was also ABSOLUTELY excellent. I do not say that lightly. Everything from our seating time, to our playing time, right into meal recommendations were spot on. Do NOT Skip desert. Worth every penny. May want to take some for a later night snack afterwards.

Stopped by while traveling for business. The home comb with fig & whipped goat cheese appetizer was really light and tasty. The risotto was cooked just right with the caramelized onions flavor throughout the dish. And of course the fillet was amazing, cooked perfectly and buttery soft. Mary our server was great. Only knock is some of the pricing is a little high, but not outrageous. Overall experience was very good and I would come back if I’m back in town. P.S. The little boy in the bathroom in creepy as hell!! 😂

L May is so cute and delicious. Came here on a weekend getaway and had the best time. Everything we ate was the best. Highly recommend!

We went here after searching reviews, and I'm so glad we did. What a great restaurant this is! Our food was made to perfection. I highly recommend the honeycomb appetizer....delicious with the goat cheese & fig jam. We shared the salmon cooked with a creamy artichoke sauce (special for evening). Allie was really a great server & very courteous. Definitely will return to L May.

I have eaten here before and had good experiences however, my most recent to celebrate an anniversary has changed my outlook. We started with the steak bite appetizer which was essentially inedible pieces of gristle that we had to spit out. For our entrees, the salmon was dry and the risotto was like mush. My husbands filet mignon was tender but under seasoned. The focaccia was dry. The house salad was probably the best part as well as the drinks which were delicious. We tipped our waiter generously as she was friendly and attentive, however for the price of the food and lack of quality I doubt we will return.

L.May Eatery is everything you want in a high end restaurant. We were instantly greeted and sat in a beautiful part of the restaurant. The design of the restaurant was gorgeous and felt upscale but still modest. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. Of note, the honeycomb was beyond expectations and the lavender thyme martini had an amazing mouthfeel with great flavor. I ordered the special which had incredibly cooked shrimp and my partner ordered the seafood fettuccine which were both impeccable. The service and the owners were incredibly kind, generous, and quick to make up for any tiny mistake. L.May is undoubtedly the best place to eat in Dubuque.

Celebrated a birthday Saturday night and wanted something special. Mary, our server is a PRO and made the experience for us. Food was top notch. Mary even brought a birthday surprise dessert that wasn't expected at all. It was SO good!
