L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center - Gym in Fort Lauderdale - 1409 NW 6th St, USA

Truly this facility is the best of the best I've seen of All YMCAs! The staff us mostly helpful. Even the maintenance folks are helpful. The facility is very beautiful no doubt to were it even looks like a modern museum. Basketball courts are very upscale and always clean!! Also there are cheerleaders, swimming and basketball leagues. Get Down to this why and go do a yoga class or hit the weights as well.

I’ve left to join LA Fitness. I was treated alright with a couple exceptions. People steal there just like anywhere else if you leave something behind (at close… when the cleaning staff or any staff would find it before open), and strange enough, my adaptor was switched out for another one behind their big counter (when charging a gadget). So… staff? Overall though it’s a helpful and cheerful environment. That makes some people feel comfortable… it makes me feel like an outsider (haha). The events make for parking issues so park before 5pm. It’s worth the higher price than my old gym (Planet) for more privacy and no loud music. Sadly there’s a 15 day notice so I’m stuck paying for the next month and I have to pay a $60 yearly fee at my new gym. They gave me a good rate at the Y but still… another charge although I’m low income and homeless. Why I left, I don’t like barely warm showers, it’s too far away, issues with the staff and they close too early for me. LA Fit also offers more, so I’m willing to pay $14 more.

One of the best Y’s I’ve visited. Spotless, brand new equipment, friendly staff. Secure free parking too. The gym isn’t that large, but if you go during the slow time, you’ll have no problem getting your equipment.

The staff here is amazing and friendly, and the amenities in the building are plentiful from a gym, a basketball court, a pool, a functional daycare, and a Broward College outlet with rentable office. Space perfect building for the community.

I recently visited this ymca, and it's a gorgeous multi-level facility. The staff is very friendly and well kept up.

Came here for the first time, and I could kick myself for not coming here sooner! This place is magical. The art is eye-opening, and 6 I spoke with Mrs. Sharon and she is the absolute most pleasurable human to speak to. Her passion for the children that go through the Y is palpable. I can't wait to do some projects with them. If you have not been to this YMCA, I highly recommend going as soon as possible! Thank you, Mrs. Sharon, for your time, you are invaluable, and your work is timeless.

This YMCA off Sistrunk is the best thing that has happened to sistrunk in a long time. It has a pool, a meeting roof top area, a gym and plenty of activities going on in the theater area also. While it’s summer and lots of kids are around there is still plenty to do to stay focus on your healthy lifestyle.
