Kritunga Indian Cuisine and Banquet - Indian restaurant in Mechanicsburg - 4920 Carlisle Pike, USA

This is a great place if you want to eat authentic South Indian food. The good part is they have veggie and non-veggie sections separated out so for pure vegetarian people it’s comfortable. I loved the idli size and how soft it was. Allam pachadi, peanut chutney and sambar was very tasty. The onion bhajis were super crispy and light. I had tea and it was good too. I enjoyed the chicken biryani, chicken tikka and potatoe bean sabji a lot. There many more options to try in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian side. Gobi Manchurian was yummy too. Will definitely visit again! Very elaborate and delicious buffet !!

My first time dining here and it was spectacular! I don’t live here, but I’m always looking for a good Indian place to eat as I travel and decided to check this out. The food was tasty and they had a nice variety to choose from. The service was exceptional and everything was clean. I also met a ton of new friends, so the clientele was welcoming as well. If you’ve never tried Indian food before you may want to give this place go around because you can sample different dishes and decide what you like.

I tried their buffet on Saturday noon and was surprised by the incredible variety of Indian dishes available. From aromatic curries to tantalizing tandoori preparations, each dish was a journey through the diverse flavors of India. The food was not just delicious; it was a culinary masterpiece. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients were fresh. Whether you're a fan of vegetarian delights or succulent meats, there was something to please every palate. The sections were clearly separated for veggie lovers and chick and goat fans. The warmth and hospitality of the staff were truly noteworthy. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and made to feel like a valued guest. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable about the dishes, and more than happy to offer recommendations. Their friendly demeanor added to the overall pleasant dining experience.

It’s our second visit to Kritunga. First time we really liked the food. However, this time it was a complete disappointment. We ordered a goat dum biriyani, chana masala (chickpea gravy) with naan. If I talk about the goat dum biriyani then I would say neither the taste nor the quantity of the goat pieces did justice to the price they are selling it for. It’s almost 18 dollars and people do not order biriyani just to eat rice. But hey, I would have agreed to the serving and the price if there were quality goat meat served in the biriyani meaning if the meat was tender and juicy. But it wasn’t. They may serve quality meat on other days but I didn’t get that on that particular occasion. Coming to the chana masala, honestly, this was a lot worse. From a restaurant like Kritunga, I just didn’t expect it. The raw smell of the chickpeas was there. The smell is supposed to be suppressed by the spices. This is the main thing in indian cuisine. You hide the raw smell by using spices. Overall it was not a pleasing visit that day. I am giving it a three star since I have some sort of a biased view towards Kritunga. Because I had their food before and they were good. Probably, on that particular occasion , on that day, it didn’t serve up to our expectation. However, the service and the atmosphere were very good.

Very good food. We are definitely going here every time we are in the area. The food is great and prices are affordable. 20 dollars for adults and 13 dollars for children. Everything is delicious and there are quite few vegetarian options. However, the chai tea wasn't exactly great but their rasna made up for it. I really liked my food and I really recommend. Just make sure you go at the right time of opening if you choose to go! :)

Awesome food , best service and beautiful place!! One of the best Indian restaurant in town. It was very fresh and flavorful. We had Karivepaku Chicken, Gobi Manchurian, Chicken Dum Biryani, Goat Dum Biryani and Matka Kulfi (Desert). They have special take out offers today on Biryanis. Which we have ordered tried those are fresh and excellent.

I have been eating here every Friday for their lunch buffet since mid October 2023. It is by far the best $20 I spend each week. The quality of food they are putting out for a buffet surpasses most places typical dine in experience. It's a pretty decent selection with a table for meat dishes, a table for vegetarian dishes, and a table for dessert. Nothing I have tried has been overly spicy so those with a gentle palette will be fine. They have great vanilla ice cream and delicious mango Lassi if you need cooled down. The staff is beyond pleasant and polite, always willing to answer any questions about anything. Just go and try! 1 bite and you're hooked!

1/15/2023 - Pongal special lunch!!! We went to Kritunga yesterday for the special meal on banana leaves with a lot of excitement, I can say it is WOW EXPERIENCE and Kritunga has put in lot of efforts to hold that excitement till end of the meal with the varieties that been served on banana leaf one after another. Food is amazingly fresh and tasty. My personal favorites are Purnalu, garelu, puri and chakrapongali 😊.There is a wait time at the beginning of the meal, but it is worth wait of experience being thousand miles away from home on a festive day. Staff are very polite despite of too many requests from us and food is served with right temperature. Recommended if living in this area for awesome food.. ——————————————————— Best Indian Buffett!!! We went to Kritunga on 10/29/22 for Lunch buffet. Very nice and tasty Indian buffet I had in recent times. Place is crowded in short period and seems everyone loved the food like us. There are more than 30 items served and my personal stand outs are Cut Mirchi, Baby corn Manchurian, Chicken Tandoori Kabab, Goat Pulao, Butter Chicken, Butter Paneer, Shahi Tukda, Bendi masala. Chicken Tandoori Kabab is so juicy, well marinated, very tender and tasty on every bite!!! Food is served at right temperature and fresh all the time. Lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons is my other favorite. Staff are friendly and service is excellent. Best Indian buffet in Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg area in recent times with large varieties of delicious items in an authentic Indian taste and right balance of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes!! Overall very much satisfied with food/service and deserve 5 star.. Highly recommend!!
